Setting up your Boca ticket printer
Last updated: October 30, 2025
Boca tickets are theater-style tickets that can be provided to customers for admittance to your activities. They are usually around 5.5 inches long and 2 inches wide, and often have a tear-off stub on one end.
Before getting started with Boca tickets, contact FareHarbor Support to turn on Boca ticket printing (this option is not enabled by default).
You can also enable QR code scanning for your items to check in your customers. Read more about how to enable QR codes.

Troubleshooting
Desktops and laptops
Why don’t my printed tickets look as expected?
Sometimes, troubleshooting is as simple as turning the printer off and on again, especially when loading new ticket stock into your printer.
If you are noticing incorrect alignment when printing Boca tickets, you may need to adjust your ticket print settings. Here are some tips you can try:
- Use Google Chrome as your web browser
Make sure that your print settings match the following:
- Destination/printer: choose the name of your ticket printer (this may be set to a different machine by default)
- Layout: Portrait
- Paper size: This should match the size of your tickets (5.5x2in is standard)
- Margins: None
- Headers and footers: disabled
If the above options still don’t work, you may want to experiment with changing the Layout or Paper size. You can also manually adjust the margins by setting the Margins to Custom.
Additionally, you can adjust ticket layouts directly in FareHarbor. Learn more about using ticket layouts.
If you’re still experiencing issues, please contact FareHarbor Support so we can troubleshoot further.
Why isn’t the printer cutting between tickets?
First, make sure that the driver software for your printer has been installed. Even if your computer prints without it, the driver software gives your computer access to printer-specific functions, like the ability to cut tickets.
If you’ve already installed the driver software, you may need to enable printer-specific settings using the Print dialog. See below for instructions on how to do this.
For Macs:
- From the Print window, select Print using system dialog….
- Click the dropdown menu that says Layout, and select Printer Features.
- Directly below the Printer Features menu, click into the Feature Sets dropdown and select Cut Options.
- Make sure that the Page Cut Type and Document Cut Type are set to Partial Cut.
For PCs:
- From the print preview window, select Print using system dialog….
- Click Preferences button.
- From the Printing Preferences page, click the Advanced button.
- Under Printer Features, make sure that Output Bin is set to Normal Mode.
For more information related to your specific model, you can refer to the manuals on the Boca Systems support page.
Why are my tickets blank or hard to read?
Often, blank or hard-to-read tickets are the result of a dusty printer head. You can find step-by-step instructions on how to clean your printer head on the Boca website or view a video here.
The more likely it is for dust to get in and around your printer, the more often you’ll want to clean your printer head.
Mobile (iOS and Android) devices
What happens if the printer loses its Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection while printing?
If the internet or Bluetooth connection is lost during the printing process, the printer will automatically attempt to re-establish the connection. However, you will need to restart the printing process for any ticket(s) that were being printed when the connection was dropped.
My printer could not be discovered during the pairing process. What do I do?
Sometimes the pairing process may time out while attempting to connect. If this happens, we recommend turning the printer off and then back on, then beginning the process again.
Why can’t I still connect my Boca printer using Wi-Fi?
Some routers have a feature called “Network Isolation” (on your router’s brand and/or model, this may be called something else). This is a security feature that protects the devices connected to the same router (for example, a mobile device and a network printer) from communicating with each other, by isolating them in their own respective sub-networks (with different IP addresses).
In order to make sure that you are able to use your Boca printer’s Wi-Fi capabilities, you have to disable the “Network Isolation” feature on your router or use a router without this feature.
Note: In order to properly configure your Wi-Fi router, please contact your System Administrator, or refer to the router user manual.

Switching between receipt and ticket printers
If a company wants to be able to quickly switch between receipt and ticket printers, see this page for the required setup. You should also note that FareHarbor supports printing receipts on Boca tickets, so most companies should not have to do this.
Troubleshooting Boca Lemur printer issues and errors
- DHCP must be enabled on the client’s router in order for Boca Wi-Fi to connect to the router via an Ethernet cable.
How to prevent the printer from printing blank tickets between printed ones
When printing multiple tickets, your printer inserts blank tickets between the printed ones, resulting in wasted ticket printing paper. Try the following steps to resolve this issue.
Check the settings for your Boca printer by going to Settings > Boca Tickets in your Dashboard.
The specified Boca ticket size should match the actual ticket paper size used by the printer. Verify the settings for the paper size and margins for the ticket layout you are using.
You can find the list of all officially supported paper ticket sizes on the Boca website.
If you need to modify the overall position of the ticket’s content when printed, you can try the following:
Instead of resizing the ticket layout, try to update the margin values.
Don’t use high-fractional values (for example
4.263") as they are not precisely scalable to the printer’s DPI resolution. Restrict the values to.5fraction on the size values and to.125fraction on the margins.
