If a trip was cancelled due to bad weather or a customer needs to take a raincheck, you can offer credit in the form of a gift certificate or voucher, which the customer can apply towards a future booking.
Note: If you are using gift cards instead of gift certificates/vouchers, see our Offering credit using gift cards page.
Issuing gift certificates for a cancelled booking
To give a customer a gift certificate for the amount of a cancelled booking, create a new booking for the customer using the “New booking for contact” option by following the steps below:
- Find and open the original, cancelled booking.
Select New booking for contact (located near the top of the booking, directly below the customer’s contact information).

- Filter your calendar to show your gift certificate item, then select today’s availability for gift certificates and select New booking.
Check the Send confirmation email option under the customer’s contact information.
If you don’t send a confirmation email, the customer will not receive their gift code.
If you do not see this option, fill in an email address for it to appear. If the email address field is disabled, you can add the customer’s email at the end of the booking process (step 8).

Choose the correct number of gift certificates you’d like to issue.
For example, if 2 people were on the booking, choose 2 gift certificates for that specific item.
Click on the pencil symbol next to Total

and price it at $0.

Select Don’t add payment now.
Select Complete order.
If you were unable to send a confirmation email when creating the customer’s gift certificate booking, or if you need to send another email, you can do so from the new booking. Select Send email or text and choose “Confirmation” as the email type:

Make sure the customer’s email address is entered, then select Send email.
