Advanced company settings
Last updated: October 17, 2025

You can find a company’s advanced settings by going to the Settings section of the Dashboard, then clicking the overview tab, then clicking the gear icon
at the top of the Changelog.
The advanced settings form is sometimes referred to as the “company admin form” or just “admin form.” That’s because the majority of these settings are visible to FH Admins only. Admin-only sections are marked with a
badge. To read about the settings that are visible to clients, go here.
You may also sometimes hear the Product Team refer to these settings as “feature flags.” On the technical side of things, everything in this form is considered a feature flag, although for consistency in documentation, we usually just refer to them as settings.
Tip: When you’re logged in as a FareHarbor Admin, use the keyboard shortcut Shift + , to immediately access these settings from anywhere in the Dashboard.
Important notes and clarifications
View
- Always show logo for online booking: When enabled, the booking flow header will always include the company logo. If no logo has been uploaded, the company’s name will be displayed in text.
- Background image for online booking: When enabled, this allows the user to upload an image that will be used as the background image behind the Lightframe while booking.
Bookings
Advanced cancellation policies: Allows the company to set detailed rules for cancellations and refunds, which are then enforced when a user attempts to cancel a booking. This is not to be confused with cancellation notes, which are simply a written summary of the company’s cancellation policy included in emails sent to customers. Learn more about cancellation policies.
Allow online cancellation: Allows end customers to cancel directly from their confirmation email or confirmation page. Clients can choose to have their customers cancel and get a refund, cancel and get a gift card, or give the customer both to choose from. Feel free to read more here.
Allow limited updates to past bookings: This setting goes hand in hand with the “Update only future bookings” permission, which prevents users from making changes on past bookings (except for adding comments, editing contact info, plus-booking, and sending emails/texts). When a user has both the permission and this setting enabled, they will be able to make payment-related changes to past bookings, which includes:
- Adding payment
- Refunding payment (including custom refunds)
- Editing custom fields
- Adding and removing line items
This setting was primarily implemented for Napa Valley Wine Train. Please ask your manager before enabling it for other companies.
Show amount due on receipt and confirmations: Determines whether or not Amount due appears on receipts and confirmations. When disabled, Amount due will not appear on any receipts or confirmations. When enabled, Amount due will appear on receipts and confirmations only if there is an amount still due after booking. If a customer has paid in full, then Amount due will not be shown, regardless of if the feature is on or off.
- This setting is enabled by default for new Dashboards. Dashboards created prior to December 22, 2018 may not have it enabled.
- Note: On affiliate and affiliate tagged bookings,* the affiliate company’s settings determine if “Amount due” is displayed in the receipt email. This also applies to viewing the booking on the charter’s dashboard. The “Amount due” will only show if the affiliate has the setting “Show amount due on receipt and confirmations” enabled its advanced company settings.
Setup
Disable FareHarbor’s Terms of Service: Allows companies to have their own Terms of Service, which will be shown instead of FareHarbor’s Terms of Service. Should only be enabled for companies who request it and if cleared by FareHarbor legal team.
Combine subtotal and tax: This is an option for companies using included taxes. The tax display text will vary depending on tax display label. Learn more about customizing tax settings.

Show tax types on receipts and emails: This setting will display the names of all tax types that apply to a booking on receipts and emails for that booking. Learn more about tax types.
Show dropdown option SKU in receipts and emails: Allows SKUs in a dropdown option to be shown on receipts and emails.
Deleting a company:
You can delete a company’s Dashboard as long as it does not have any past or future bookings:
- Affiliate Dashboards: The affiliate shouldn’t be linked to any past / future live bookings (excluding demo mode).
- Charter Dashboards: The company shouldn’t have any past or future live bookings (excluding demo mode).
Payments
Receive affiliate invoice payments: This is what allows a company to receive affiliate payments directly through FareHarbor. Both the charter and affiliate company must have a bank account added to FareHarbor for this to work. Learn more about paying invoices with FareHarbor.
Provide Additional Verification Data

Note: DO NOT enable any of these features without consulting Payment Operations. If a client is requesting further fraud prevention techniques, please reach out to @payment_operations for further instructions.
- Always Verify Postal Codes: Enabling this feature requires the correct entry of the end-user’s zip code in the credit card form.
- Use geographic rules for payments: Enabling this feature allows for geographic based rules to be applied to the account.
Rolling window: Adjusting the rolling window delays the payment date of money collected, it does not affect frequency of payouts. By default we payout payments collected 1 day before. If you set the rolling window to X days, we will pause payouts for X days and then payouts will resume on a daily basis again. The daily deposits will be from payments collected X number of days before. Changing the rolling window timeframe will only affect the next payout and will not adjust the payout frequency and schedule permanently.
- Note: This is for internal use only
