How to set up donations

Setup

1. Make sure to enable the following checkboxes under Advanced Company Settings > Setup > Tax

   

2. Add a new tax type labeling it as “Donation” and set it to 100% in order to correctly get the 1:1 ratio aligned.

3. Create the donation quantity dropdown

   • Price at $1.00
   • Under Price, change Taxes to Custom tax
   • Under Tax, make sure donation tax is on, and any other dashboard tax(es) are off

   

   • Note: For % Donations to work, Tax Calculation type needs to be set as Recalculate on either dash or CF level
4. Create Donation Customer Type
5. Setup the Donation item as you would a gift card:
   • Turn off all automatic emails
   • Display as a retail item
   • OBC 1/1 min/max, -24 hours & uncheck “Include” on all
   • Item level untaxed
   • Donation CF on whole booking level

Follow these steps to set up donation CFs:

Step 1: Enable Required Checkboxes

1. Go to Advanced Company Settings.
2. Navigate to Setup.
3. Select Tax.

4. Ensure the necessary checkboxes are enabled.

   

Step 2: Add a New Tax Type

1. Go to the Tax settings.
2. Add a new tax type.
3. Label the new tax type as Donation.
4. Set the tax rate to 100% to ensure a 1:1 ratio alignment.

Step 3: Create the Donation Quantity Dropdown CF

1. Create a new Q.TY. Dropdown CF from settings.
2. Set the price for each donation unit to $1.00.

3. Adjust Tax Settings:

   • Under Price, select Custom tax.
   • Ensure the Donation tax is enabled.
   • Ensure any other dashboard taxes are disabled.

   

Important Note

For percentage-based donations to work correctly:

• The Tax Calculation type needs to be set as Recalculate at either the dashboard or CF level.

By following these steps, you will successfully set up donation CFs with the appropriate tax settings.
