WeChat Pay
Last updated: September 19, 2025
WeChat Pay is a mobile payment method widely used in China and growing internationally. It allows customers to pay instantly through their mobile device. The payment method is available only for online payments and for Dashboards that use the following currencies:
- EUR
- USD
- AUD
If interested, please contact FareHarbor Support to request WeChat Pay to be enabled on your Dashboard.
After WeChat Pay is enabled in your Dashboard you have to provide additional verification information to our payment processor (Stripe). Specifically:
- Your business Tax ID.
- The description of your product or service.
You can provide these details on the Dashboard by updating your verification information on the Dashboard via the Payments Setup Checklist (Settings > Bank & Payments).
How does it work?
After your customer chooses the number of tickets for each customer type, the next step is to select their payment method.

After confirming the payment method, the customer is redirected to WeChat Pay to complete the transaction via QR code scan or mobile confirmation. Once completed, they are redirected back to FareHarbor to view their booking confirmation. The booking overview also shows WeChat Pay as the payment method.

Steps to enable WeChat Pay for existing clients
Note: Enabling WeChat Pay for existing clients will trigger Stripe to collect additional verification information from clients. This could disrupt their payment processing until complete, so please follow these steps carefully.
- Go to the #payments-gateway-public channel and complete the Workflow.
- Product will then enable WeChat Pay for the Dashboard in Stripe and respond to the workflow slack when complete.
- The client is then required to immediately complete verification on Stripe (accessible via the Payment Setup Checklist in their Dashboard). This is typically entering an email address in Stripe.
- Once Stripe verification is complete, FH Admins can enable WeChat Pay in Advanced company settings > Payments > Enable WeChat Pay payments > Save changes.
- WeChat Pay will then be available for customers to use as a payment method.
Steps to enable WeChat Pay for new clients
This is applicable only to clients who have not yet processed payments or completed their Payment Setup Checklist.
- Go to Advanced company settings > Payments.
- Select the checkbox Enable WeChat Pay payments.
