Blog Settings

Blog settings dictate the appearance of the blog pages.
FareHarbor sites have limited blog capabilities. If a client has a specific blog request, please submit it to the FareHarbor Sites Idea Box.
How to Activate The Blog
- Add a new page titled “Blog” or whatever the blog label is set to. Don’t add any content to this page; it will not be displayed.
- Make sure to click “Publish” to publish this new page before continuing.
- Go to Settings > Reading.
- “Front page displays” should already be set to “A static page”. If not, set it correctly.
- Choose the new page created in step 2 as the “Posts page”.
- Click “Save Changes”. That’s it! The blog can now be accessed by navigating to the page created in step 2.
Blog posts can be created and managed under the “Blog Posts” page in the sidebar to the left.
Blog Title
This is what the blog is referred to as throughout the site. Something like “Blog”, “News”, or “Updates” is good.
The title will also appear in the headings on the blog pages.
Default Blog Post Format:
- Standard Post: This format is meant for predominantly text-based blogs.
- Photo or Photo Gallery: This format features photo(s) and has an area for text.
- Video: This format is meant for vlogs. The video will be featured and there is an area for text.
Tip: If the client uses a variety of blog types, select the most popular type. The blog post format can be changed on an individual post level as well.
Blog Header Image
The blog header image will be the background image for the blog pages.
Blog Header Image Alignment
To feature a certain area (bottom, middle, or top) of the blog header image, select the appropriate alignment.
Background
To set a custom background, select “Custom” from the dropdown. Select either a color (Palette Color, Custom Background Color) or select a background image. All the same options are applicable to the background image per template including overlay, alignment and mobile only imagery.
Blog Options
This section turns on blog post dates and determines what will be displayed in the blogs sidebar.
If you choose “Show a categories archive list in sidebar.” a list of all the categories you’ve created under Blog Posts > Blog Categories will appear on your blog page. If you have a large blog, this will help customers find the blogs they’re looking for.

The grid view is the default look, but you can select the option to “Display the blog posts in a single column format.” to have the blogs display vertically (one single row)
You can also select the option to “TRANSLATE the blog.” to initiate a multi-language blog. For more details on how to set up a multi-language blog, see this help page.
Featured activity button options
If you add a featured activity to a blog post, by default it will display both ‘Learn More’ & ‘Book Now’ buttons.
In this section you can switch it to Show ‘Learn More’ only or Show ‘Book Now’ only button.
These options are also available on individual blog posts.
