Blogs on FareHarbor Sites can translated for use on multi-language sites. This is a good SEO boost!
How to set up Blog Translations
To set up a translated blog, the site must already have the languages for the site set up in Settings > Translation Settings. For more information on getting the site set up for translations see this help page.
To Make the Blog Translatable:
- Under Settings > Blog Settings > Blog Options, select the option to “TRANSLATE the blog.”
- Under Settings > Translation Settings, translate the blog title in the Label Overrides section for each language on the site.
- Under Blog Posts > Blog Categories (then Blog Tags), edit each category or tag to include a translated name for each language.
Now, the translation dropdown will appear in the menu of the blog. When you switch to each language, the menu, footer, and blog title should change to what is set for that language in Translation Settings, and hard coded content will appear in the appropriate language. The posts, however, will still show in the original language.
To Translate Individual Posts:
- On the admin page of a post that you want to translate, select a new language in the Post Language Toggle.
- In the fields that appear below, add a translated title, content, and optionally, language specific featured activities.
- Scroll down to find the SEO section for the language you are translating and add a translated Title Tag and Meta Description.
Now your posts will be translated as well.
