How do I remove an activity from my FareHarbor website?
Last updated: January 2, 2025
If you determine that one of your tours or activities should no longer be bookable on your website, this help doc will provide you with options to hide, delete, or adjust it so customers cannot book the activity online.
First, determine if you would like the activity adjusted, hidden (so it’s easy to turn back on later), or permanently deleted.
Adjusting: Changing the page content, but not removing it from public view. Best when there is a temporary change (even if that lasts months).
The page will stay visible to customers to potentially keep its SEO standing.
The page can be altered to tell customers when it will be back in season, promote other in-season activities instead, or provide an alternate method of contact for questions.
Hiding: Preserving the page content, but removing it from public view. Best when there is long-term change, but potential to offer the activity again in the future.
Since the page is removed from public view, it will lose SEO standing. Details on how to set up redirects to help mitigate SEO losses can be found on this help page.
The page content will be stored as long as you need and can be republished at any time.
- Consider redirecting traffic from this page to a similar one if you plan to hide the page for longer than a month.
Deleting: Unrecoverable removal of page content. Best when there is no potential to offer the activity in the future.
The page content is destroyed forever.
Redirect this page’s traffic to a similar one to mitigate losses in SEO. Details on how to set up redirects can be found on this help page.
Adjusting the book now button
If you would like the activity adjusted because it’s not available at the moment but still visible on your website, you have a couple of options:
You can quickly update the activity button to say “Call to Book” or with a few additional steps you can update the activity’s button to say something like “Currently Unavailable” or “Check back soon!”
Updating a Book Now button to say Call to Book
Login to your FareHarbor website (help doc here: How do I login to my website?)
Find the Activities tab on the left of the page
Search for the activity you would like to edit and click the activity title to view the page
In the Activity section, find the Options tab in the top row of tabs

Under Activity Options, check the option “Call to Book” and click Update.
As described next to the option, this checkbox will remove the calendar from the activity page and the button will automatically link to the phone number added in Company Settings
If you need to change this phone number throughout the website visit Settings > Company Settings > Contact Info
Changing the number in Contact Info will update it throughout your site including the footer, contact page, and any Call to Book buttons
Customizing a Book Now button
Login to your FareHarbor website (help doc here: How do I login to my website?)
Find the Activities tab on the left of the page
Search for the activity you would like to edit and click the activity title to view the page
In the Activity section, find the Buttons tab in the top row of tabs
Click Add a Button then click Button in the pop up

In the button block that appears, click the Appearance tab
In the Label field, add the customized text you would like (examples: “Coming Soon!”, “Check Back Soon”, “Currently Unavailable”)

Clicking update at this point will still link the button to the activity’s lightframe. If you would like to change where the button links, click the Action tab in the button block.
In the Action dropdown, select Custom URL
You can leave the Custom URL blank if you don’t want the button to lead anywhere
- This could be confusing for customers who are expecting to be led somewhere with the button. An alternative option is to link the button to the activity page so both the customized Book Now button and the Learn More button lead to the activity page.

Hiding the activity
You can unpublish the activity page so it isn’t visible to customers visiting your website, but is still visible when you login to edit your website.
Hiding an activity from your website
Login to your FareHarbor website (help doc here: How do I login to my website?)
Find the Activities tab on the left of the page
Search for the activity you would like to edit and click the activity title to view the page
In the Publish section, click Edit next to the Status

Change the Status to Draft and click Update
- IMPORTANT: If you would like to make changes to the activity but keep it hidden, do not click the Publish button. Once you’ve made edits, click Save Draft to save those changes but keep the page in the Draft status.

Lastly, make sure you set up a redirect for the activity page you just hid. Details on how to set up redirects can be found on this help page.
Deleting the activity
If you decide the activity will no longer be offered and you are ok with rebuilding the activity if it is ever offered again in the future, you can delete the activity page.
If you would like the activity completely removed follow these steps:
Login to your FareHarbor website (help doc here: How do I login to my website?)
Find the Activities tab on the left of the page
Search for the activity you would like to remove and click the activity title to view the page
Find the Publish section and click Move to Trash

Alternatively, on the Activities page hover over the title of the activity and click Trash in the options that appear below the activity title

Once you have moved an activity to the trash, it will be permanently deleted within 30 days. If you accidentally moved an activity to the trash, go back to the Activities tab on the left of the page, click the “Trash” link at the top of the page, hover over the activity title and click “Restore”. This will move the activity out of the trash but it will be in the Draft status. If you would like to publish the activity to make it visible on your site again, go to the Publish section and click the Publish button.
- Lastly, make sure you set up a redirect for the activity page you just hid. Details on how to set up redirects can be found on this help page.
