Archiving customer types
Last updated: December 27, 2021
If a customer type is no longer in use, you can hide it on your Dashboard by archiving it. Archiving helps to manage customer types that aren’t in use while ensuring that no previous booking information is lost.
Before archiving a customer type, please note the following important information:
- Archiving a customer type prevents it from being added to any items that it has not already been added to.
- Customer types that were added in an item’s Options & Prices before archiving (and have not been removed from future availabilities for that item) will still be visible to customers when booking that item.
- Archiving a customer type that is already on future, uncancelled bookings will not affect those bookings.
Archiving a customer type
- Go to the Settings section of your Dashboard.
- Select Customer Types.
- Select Edit » next to the customer type you want to archive.
- Check the Archived box.
- Save your changes.
Viewing archived customer types
To view your archived customer types, navigate to the Settings section of your Dashboard and select the Customer Types tab. Open the advanced settings menu (look for the gear icon) and select Show archived. Archived customer types will be located at the bottom of the list by default.

Important notes
In your Dashboard, archived customer types will be hidden in most places except where they are currently in use. Anywhere you see an in-use archived customer type (such as in an item’s Options & Prices), it will be clearly marked with an “(archived)” note.
If you remove an archived customer type from an item’s settings, you will not be able to re-select the archived customer type from the dropdown.
You can always un-archive a customer type, if needed. To do this, go to the archived customer type by following these steps and unchecking the Archived box.
Internal-only content. Don't copy and paste to anyone.
In general, an archived customer type will still be visible if it’s still in use (like on a previously made booking, in an item’s Options & Prices, and in resource requirements). All archived customer types, regardless of use, will be available in reporting.
In most cases, archived customer types will have an “archived” note next to their names. The “archived” note will not appear next to an archived customer type in the following places:
- On the booking overlay
- On the book form (both the online book form and direct book form)
- On the manifest
- On the resource requirement summary when item-level customer type SKUs are in use
- Currently, if a customer type has an item-specific SKU, we don’t show the (archived) label next to that SKU. The most visible place where this happens is when the customer type is listed in the resource requirement summary instead of “Every customer”. However, you can still click into the “edit” view for the requirement and see which related customer types have been archived.
