Managing Health & Safety Policies
Last updated: October 5, 2023
Your Health & Safety Policy serves as an assurance to your customers that you’re taking careful measures to keep them safe. The policies you set in your Dashboard will be shown to customers throughout the booking process.
Clearly displaying your Health & Safety Policy can help keep customers informed of the precautions you have put in place during your activities to keep everyone safe and healthy.
You can add health and safety information in two places in your Dashboard: in your company settings and individual item settings. This allows you to set a general Health & Safety Policy shown during checkout for all items you offer and supplement that with item-specific information. Read more about each below.
Managing your company Health & Safety Policy
The Health & Safety Policy added in your company settings will be shown in a message to customers throughout the booking process and in any confirmation emails. The goal is to provide your customers with relevant information about safety policies you have in place.

We recommend customizing your company Health & Safety Policy to reflect your specific procedures and methods for keeping customers healthy and safe during your activities.
To set your company Health & Safety Policy:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Select Info & Policies under “Communication”.
- In the Notes & Policies tab, select Health & Safety.
- Insert your company’s policy using Markdown. You will see a live preview of how this will look to your customers as you edit.
- Select Save changes.
Managing an item’s Health & Safety Notes
In addition to your company-level Health & Safety Policy, it may be necessary to add information about certain procedures or methods used for a particular item you offer.
For example, if you offer ATV Tours in addition to your walking tours, you may need to specify that helmets are required and will be provided for the ATV Tours.
An item’s Health & Safety notes are shown when your customer is viewing an item and also appear in any confirmation emails alongside your company Health & Safety Policy.

To set additional health and safety notes for an item:
- Navigate to the item’s Settings.
- Select Listing under “Online Booking”.
- Select Health & Safety from the menu on the left.
- Insert any item-specific notes that you want to appear along with your company policy.
- Select Save changes. You will see a preview of how your input will look to customers after you save.
Helpful Tips for Health and Safety Notes
Here are some things to keep in mind when adding information to the Health and Safety section of your Dashboard:
Your health is our top priority, and we have put special measures in place to keep all guests safe both during and after your activity.
* Notes should be informative and helpful.
* Notes should reflect your own policies and procedures.
* Include certain steps you have taken to ensure customers are safe during their experience.
* Include safety information you would want customers to know before participating in your activity.
* Information added to Health and Safety Notes should only be information that pertains to safety procedures and other steps you are taking to keep customers healthy; any other information you would want customers to be aware of before their activity can be placed in Confirmation Notes.
Internal-only content. Don't copy and paste to anyone.
More on Health & Safety policies
- Health & Safety policies are not displayed on profile pages. Learn more about why we’re deprecating profile pages.
- If no text has been entered in the company-level Health & Safety Policy field, the Health & Safety toggle will not be shown at the top of the Lightframe, but item health & safety notes (if they exist) will still be shown above the item description and in confirmation emails for that item.
Best practices
- Health & Safety policies should not contain links because we don’t want to take the customer out of the Lightframe.
- Health & Safety policies behave similarly to confirmation notes, meaning if the Dashboard has policies on the company level and on the item level, both will be shown. As a best practice, we should avoid adding the exact same information or conflicting information in these places to avoid confusion.
- If all items share the same Health & Safety policies, make sure to add that information at the company level.
