Troubleshooting Resources

This page contains several tips for troubleshooting resources issues on Dashboards.
1. Which resource is being overused?
Open problem booking and add customer types to figure out which resource is being overused.

2. Jump to the overused resource from the availability overlay
From the book form, click on the date and time of the availability to navigate to the availability overlay. Click on the capacity flyout and select Resources. Each resource listed links to the resource’s settings. Click on the overused resource.

3. Review resource restrictions and uses
Open that resource that is being overused and check the restriction under Settings – could this be causing the issue? Toggle over to the uses calendar. Click on the uses on the problem day group by Start Time – are there overlapping uses? Does this solve the issue?

4. Add resources to booking calendar
View the problem availability on the calendar and add the “resources” display option. Does the number of resources being used match the number of people booked? Is something off?

5. Check booking and availability history
Look at the booking history and the availability history – was something updated that could impact resources? Was a customer type added? Was the start time or length changed after the booking was made? Was the requirement group changed or removed? If so, reapply resources. Does this fix the problem?

6. Review resource requirement group
Open the problem item and view the resource requirement group – are all customer types added? Are there any advanced restrictions in place? Is the start/end time of the resource correct?

7. Use Timeline view
Use the timeline view to see overlapping resources (especially helpful for lodging or campsite setups).

8. Reference ‘Resources and Bookability’ help page
Reference the Resources and Bookability help page. Is your problem documented here?
- Are there any customer type restrictions on the availability (min/max booking party size, per-availability capacity)?
- Are any of the customer types hidden on a specific price sheet?
- Are any of the customer types exclusive? (you can check under item settings > Options & Prices > customer type settings)
- Are there minimum booking party sizes in the item’s online booking settings?
- Are there any affiliate blocks set up on the availability?
- Should availabilities display “Call to book” when full or overbooked? (you can check from the item’s ‘bookability’ settings)
- Has the availability’s online booking status been manually changed?
- Are there overlapping availabilities using resources?
- What permissions does the Dashboard user trying to make the booking have? * Do they have the “Overbook availabilities” permission disabled?
