Last updated: August 21, 2025
See our FareHarbor Dock help page to learn more about this application.
FareHarbor Dock is designed to streamline your in-person bookings with two powerful modes. Each mode provides a different experience tailored to who is processing the booking.
- Kiosk mode empowers guests to independently book with an intuitive customer-facing interface.
- Staff mode enables employees to quickly process in-person sales with a fast and user-friendly interface. Employees can also use Staff mode to:
- Complete booking actions (adding notes, expenses, or discounts).
- Print receipts.
- Check in guests after a booking has been completed.
Use FareHarbor Dock to accept payments using a Bluetooth-connected EMV card reader.

Troubleshooting
How do I update the items sold through FareHarbor Dock, including their prices and/or custom fields?
You can update item prices using the price sheet associated with the item. Please see instructions on managing items here.
Why do I see a “Set up a company payment method to proceed” error?
If you see the Set up a company payment method to proceed error during the checkout process, it means your company does not have EMV chip card payments enabled in your Dashboard. Please contact FareHarbor Support for assistance.
Why do I see a “Set up user permissions to process credit card transactions” error?
If you see the Set up user permissions to process credit card transactions error during the checkout process, it means the logged-in user does not have the required Charge credit cards permission enabled for their account.
This permission setting is located under Users & Permissions > Permission Groups > select the relevant user’s permission group > Bookings & Payments.
Why do I not see membership items?
Membership sales are not currently supported for FareHarbor Dock, and will not appear in the app.
Why can I not sell gift cards with FareHarbor Dock?
Gift card sales are not supported for FareHarbor Dock at this time. If the gift card item has not been removed from the POS price sheet, you will see the gift card item displayed with an error message in the app.
Why am I seeing items in Staff mode but not in Kiosk mode?
Kiosk mode will reference an item’s online bookability, and will reflect its booking restrictions. (For example, items may not appear in today’s view if Online bookability closes at midnight on the day of.)
Staff mode will display items with the following bookability settings:
- Private
- Unlisted
(Note: Items with an Archived bookability type are not bookable in Staff mode.)
