Feature Overview and Value Proposition
Combos is a powerful feature that gives our clients the ability to combine multiple experiences (items) and sell them in a single booking flow, increasing multi-item purchases (more than 1 item) by 26%, boosting revenue per order, and enhancing customer satisfaction. For example, offer a ferry ticket with a guided tour package, or pair a new item with a bestseller for a special rate. These combo deals not only simplify the purchasing process but also encourage your customers to spend more.
This brings a lot of value to our clients:
- By combining two items, clients can effortlessly enhance customer satisfaction while maximizing revenue.
- Seamlessly integrated into the online booking experience, combos appear as an enticing option, encouraging your customers to spend more once they’ve completed their initial booking.
- Easy to build (self-service).
- Customizable to their business needs.

Combo Recommendations
Below outlines what type of items can be recommended to be sold together based on the client’s business strategy.
- Round-trip items: If an item is often paired with another item because of the nature of the offering i.e. ferry tickets, then these are ideal items to sell together in an upsell combo (with or without discount).
- New items: Pair best selling items with new items in a discount combo to push the sale of new items.
- Add-on items: If an item can be sold as an add-on to another offering, it makes a good candidate for combining the two items in a combo (with or without discount). For example,
- Complementary items: If other activities or rentals are offered at a destination, clients can upsell another activity or rental option that may be enjoyed in the same location (water rafting and hiking tour OR sunset sail and snorkeling OR ATV rental and jet ski adventure).

Best Practices
- If combos and suggested items are both in use, showing suggested items only after a purchase can help prevent customers from feeling overwhelmed.
- We recommend using a specific item in no more than three combos. Using three or less combos can help avoid inducing decision paralysis and facilitate a smooth mobile checkout experience.
- Tailor an upsell page’s headline to something concise and activity-specific for added appeal.
- Combo discounts are not a good fit for a workflow that upsells through custom fields.
- Clients should be aware discounts will not reflect on custom fields. Although clients that set pricing on custom fields can still use combos, discounts will not reflect accurately.
Limitations
- Discounts will not work with private charters that are priced through custom fields, but will work with standard private charters using priced customer types.
- We are not able to support seasonality.
- We do not currently support discounts on specific availabilities.
- Discounts will not reflect on custom fields. Although clients that set pricing on custom fields can still use combos, discounts will not reflect accurately.
- The following settings are currently unavailable for packaged combos:
- Requiring that customers start both packaged combo items on the same day
- Requiring selection of availabilities on the same day in the calendar view
- Allowing availabilities selected by a customer to overlap
