Cross-Sell Combos
Last updated: October 17, 2025
Cross-Sell Combos (CSC) allow you to seamlessly cross-sell offerings from other operators within the Combos booking flow. This helps you expand your product offerings and unlock new revenue while maintaining full control over your items, payments, policies, and bookings.
Enabling and setting up Cross-Sell Combos
Please reach out to your account manager or our Support team for more information. Let your account manager know if you’d like to sell items from a separate Dashboard that you control, or if you would like to sell items from another operator.
Note: You must establish a partner agreement with an operator independently before sharing activities with each other. FareHarbor does not provide a list of potential partners and will not mediate or facilitate this process.
Setting up a partnership
CSC partnerships consist of a supplying partner and a selling partner. The supplying partner provides items to be sold by a selling partner and the selling partner sells items provided by the supplying partner.
Your account manager will send an agreement letter to both partner operators. Provide your account manager with a confirmation via email from both parties stating that you agree to the partnership. This requirement does not apply to Dashboards owned and operated by the same company.
See the Managing cross-sell partners section of this page for more information on configuring your partnerships in the Dashboard.
Setting prices
Once you have provided the required materials to your FareHarbor account manager, confirm with the account manager which price sheet you’d like to use for this cross-selling partnership. This will determine how your items are priced when upsold in a combo by the selling partner. Supplier and seller Dashboards must have the same currency configured.
You may create a dedicated price sheet or indicate to your account manager which existing price sheet you’d like to use.
The supplying partner sets pricing, taxes, customer types, custom fields, and other configurations for any shared activity. These settings cannot be modified by the selling partner. You may update the dedicated price sheet at any time. Changes will be reflected in real time in your partner’s Dashboard.
Note: It is important to communicate with your partner before making changes, as updates may impact their existing combos or customer experience.
Discounts
You may offer discounts within Cross-Sell Combos to encourage customers to add more activities to their booking. Discounts can be applied to activities whether you are cross-selling between your own Dashboards or collaborating with another business.
Discounts are applied on the Cross-Sell Combo partnership page. As a supplier, you may specify the discount amount for each seller via the Discount dropdown. Discounts are automatically applied to all items, ticket types, and add-ons configured via custom fields for a specific seller within the price sheet.
Note: Only suppliers can create or modify discounts. Sellers can view discount information when creating combos but cannot change it.
To apply a cross-sell combo discount:
- Navigate to Settings in your FareHarbor Dashboard.
- Click Cross Sell Partners from the navigation on the left.
- Under the Sellers tab, edit an existing seller by clicking the … icon or create a new seller by clicking + Add New Seller.
- In the Seller view, select the supplier price sheet or schedule from the dropdown.
- Define a discount percentage in the Discount settings field.
- Click Update or Create.

Creating combos for cross-selling
Once cross-selling combos have been enabled on your Dashboard, and you have set up a partnership, create a Combo for cross selling.
To create a combo:
- Navigate to Settings in your FareHarbor Dashboard.
- Select Combos under the Online Booking section of the navigation on the left. If you don’t see this option on your Dashboard, see the Setting up combos help page.
- Click + Create combo.
- Select an item from your Dashboard in the top Select an item dropdown.
- Select an item from your supplier’s Dashboard in the second Select an item dropdown. Items from a supplier company are identified by the Dashboard name in brackets preceding the item name.
- Click Create combo.

Using price schedules with Cross-Sell Combos
You may use Price Schedules with Cross-Sell Combos to manage dynamic pricing. A price schedule determines which price sheet applies at different times (for example: regular pricing on weekdays and higher pricing on weekends).
A price schedule can be defined for a seller in the Cross-sell Partners view under the Sellers tab. When a Price Schedule, rather than a single price sheet, is selected in the second dropdown, an additional dropdown for Price sheets appears.
A price sheet controls both pricing and item visibility for suppliers’ activities. When using a price schedule, you must specify both:
- The schedule (controls pricing).
- The price sheet (controls item visibility).
To add a price schedule to a new or existing seller:
- In the Cross-sell Partners view, click the … icon to edit an existing seller or click + Add New Seller to create a new seller.
- Select the supplier’s price sheet or schedule from the Supplier price sheet or schedule dropdown. Only items marked for online booking will appear.
- When a price schedule is selected, a Price sheet dropdown will appear.
- With the Price sheet dropdown, select a price sheet to decide which items are available when creating combos.

Managing cross-sell partners
Users with manage combos enabled in the Dashboard settings can view the Cross-Sell Partners tab in the Settings section of your Dashboard. Here you can find information on Cross-sell combo suppliers and sellers.
The Cross-Sell Partners section of your Settings is divided between Sellers and Suppliers tab.
The Sellers tab displays all configured partnerships for which the current Dashboard is a Supplier. Once you have made an arrangement with a seller, contact your Account manager to add the seller to your Dashboard.
Note: Partnership records cannot be deleted from the Cross-sell Partners view.
The Suppliers tab displays all configured partnerships for which the current Dashboard is a Seller. In the example below, Joe’s Bus Tours supplies activities to be sold from your Dashboard:

Both the Sellers and Suppliers tabs feature columns displaying the partner company’s name, the relevant price sheet and the status of the partnership. The partner Status is either Activated or Deactivated.

Note: Cross-sell partnerships are always set up on the Supplier side. Suppliers cannot be added from a Seller’s Dashboard.
The customer experience
Once your CSC agreement has been confirmed by both parties, and the supplying partner has defined the pricing as described in the Setting prices section, the selling partner can create combos using the supplying partner’s item. Once a selling partner has included a supplying partner’s item in a combo, customers will begin to see the partner activities during the booking process on the upsell page.
Booking
For customers, the booking process is identical to the existing FareHarbor Combos upselling experience. Once the first item is selected, customers are presented with other tour and activity add-on options in the same booking flow.
Note: Offerings from partners are clearly labeled as “Partner Company” to ensure transparency.

Checkout and payment
At checkout, customers see a combined summary of their Combos order. Each activity clearly displays the operator’s name, logo, and a link to their individual cancellation policy, making it clear which company is responsible for each offering. If a customer changes their mind, they may remove individual activities from their cart.

When a customer clicks Complete Order on the checkout page, the payment process begins. In the customer’s payment process, transactions for both the supplier and seller activities will be experienced as a single payment. For more information on the payment process from the operator’s perspective, see the Payments section of this help page.
Confirmation
Once the payment is processed, the customer is taken to the confirmation page. The page will show that both orders are complete, each clearly identified with the respective operator’s details. After booking, customers will receive separate confirmation emails from each participating operator.
Payments
When concluding the checkout process for CSC activities, customers make a single payment. However, within this payment, two transactions occur behind the scenes.
During the payment process:
- A payment is first initiated for the selling partner’s activity.
- If this initial payment fails, the customer is automatically redirected back to the checkout page.
- From there, the customer can review their details and try to complete the purchase again. This mirrors the behavior customers expect when a payment doesn’t go through.
- Once a payment is successfully completed for a selling partner’s activity, a payment will be attempted for the supplying partner’s activity.
- If the second payment fails, the confirmation page will still be displayed, but with a clear indication that only one order was completed. The failed order will be marked as incomplete or unsuccessful.
Once both payments are processed:
- The customer is taken to the confirmation page.
- If both payments succeed, the page will show that both orders are complete, each clearly identified with the respective operator’s details.
- FareHarbor sends the appropriate amount to each partner involved in the booking.
Each partner receives their payment directly, manages their own refunds and cancellations, and applies their own policies independently, as with any regular booking.
Note: Your normal payment processing fees and FareHarbor booking fees apply. These fees are collected separately.
Frequently asked questions
Can my partners modify the price I set?
No, your partners cannot modify the price you set. The price is fully controlled by you through the dedicated price sheet linked to their Dashboard. What you set is exactly what their customers will see during checkout.
Can I use custom fields for activities sold through Cross-Sell Combos?
Yes, you can attach custom fields to the activities in your price sheet. These will be included in the booking flow when your activity is sold through a combo.
Note: Only the supplier can configure the custom fields. Your partner cannot modify or override them.
Can I add more than one partner?
Yes, there’s no limit to how many partner Dashboards you can connect your activities to. You can create multiple dedicated price sheets and link each one to a different partner or use the same price sheet for all of your partners.
Can I use CSC in the Dock or for manual bookings?
No, CSC supports online direct bookings only. It is not currently available in the Dock.
How do I discontinue a partnership?
If you wish to end a partnership, please contact your account manager directly. We’ll handle the removal of the shared price sheet and disconnect the Dashboards to ensure your activities are no longer available to your partner.
We recommend informing your partner in advance to avoid confusion, especially if there are active combos. Since FareHarbor does not mediate these agreements, coordination between both parties is important.
How does commission work?
CSC does not currently support built-in commission settings. Currently, commissions are managed through pricing. You define the rate that your partner sees, which is also the price their customers will see on their website. This rate should already include any markup you agree on.
If you would like your partners to use the same net rates as those on your own website, so that pricing stays consistent across all channels, but at the same time you want your partner to earn a commission, you may need to reconcile that commission separately with your partner outside of FareHarbor.
Note: FareHarbor does not handle payouts between operators and does not currently generate invoices between partners. FareHarbor does provide reporting, so you can track how many bookings are made through each partner.
What is the difference between Cross-Sell Combos and FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN)?
Cross-Sell Combos enable operators to cross-sell offerings from another operator within the existing Combos booking flow. It is ideal for operators with existing relationships with another fellow operator and looking to expand their offerings and increase order value during online checkout.
FHDN is a distribution network that makes it easy for operators to find partners and sell their activities on their website. There is already an established contract that is managed through FHDN. It is ideal for operators that don’t have existing relationships and are looking to offer a broader selection of tours and activities on their website.
Can I use both Cross-Sell Combos and FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN)?
Yes, there is no conflict in using both as they are separate functionalities. Keep in mind that Cross-Sell Combos and FHDN are independent product offerings with different purposes, partnership processes, and booking flows.
Can I include a discount on items in Cross-Sell Combos?
Yes, it is possible to apply promo codes to items in a cross-sell combo order, as long as the codes are issued from the Dashboard that owns the item. Promo codes from the Seller Dashboard apply only to Seller-owned items, and codes from the Supplier dashboard apply only to Supplier-owned items.

Managing cross-sell partners
The Cross-sell Partners section of a client’s Dashboard includes Sellers and Suppliers tabs. The Sellers tab lists all configured partnerships for which the current Dashboard is a Supplier.
Only FareHarbor Admins can create a new Seller. Sellers are configured by specifying the Seller’s shortname and the Supplier’s (current Dashboard) price sheet.

FareHarbor Admins may also deactivate partnerships from the Cross-sell Partners list.
Note: It is not possible to delete partnership records from the Cross-sell Partners view.
