Combo discounts

The information on this page relates to the Combos feature.
Combos allow you to offer suggested items through an upsell page, which encourages customers to explore or purchase other items that may pair well with their current selection. You can promote paired items further by setting up combo discounts.
Creating a discount
Prerequisite: You must have at least one combo available on your Dashboard. Please see our Setting up combos help page for instructions to create a combo.
Navigate to the Settings tab and select Combos (listed in the Online Booking section).

Locate the combo you’d like to create a discount for and click the Edit option. (Note: Discounts can be set up for retail items.)

Enter the discount rate to be assigned to each item when upsold, then click the Save button.

Previewing the discount
Once a discount has been saved, the discount badge will appear in the upsell page preview that is available under Settings > Combos.

Frequently asked questions
Will the discount only apply to the upsell item?
Yes, only the upsell item will be discounted.
Can discounts be set up for retail items that are used in a combo?
Yes, discounts can be set up for retail items.
Will the discount apply to custom fields?
No, the discount will not apply to any custom fields.
Is there a limit to how many discounts a customer can redeem in a booking?
If the Limit combo discounts by opener customer count option is enabled for the combo, then customers can only redeem discounts up to the number of customer types selected for the opener item. (For example: If a customer selected two customer types for the opener item, they can only select two customer types for the discounted upsell item.) Learn more about adjusting combo settings.
Are customers able to cancel discounted items online?
Yes, there are no restrictions for online cancellations at this time.
Will customers be able to use combo discounts in conjunction with discount codes or campaign codes?
Although combo discounts cannot be stacked with discount codes, it is possible to use campaign codes in conjunction with combo discounts. If you want to allow customers to use campaign or promo codes on top of combo discounts, check the Campaigns setting. (Note: This setting will only appear if campaigns are enabled for the Dashboard.)
Can discounts be applied when a customer is paying with a gift card?
Yes, discounts can be applied when a customer pays with a gift card.
Do combo discounts carry over in a rebooking?
Combos and combo discounts currently do not carry over in a rebooking, or when participants are added or removed from a booking.
When will the discount be applied?
The discount will be applied to bookings after membership benefits have been applied, but before custom fields, and taxes.
How do discounts work with dynamic pricing?
Dynamic pricing will set the price once the customer lands on the small calendar but before they choose the customer type(s). The discount will be set on the price that is determined by the current pricing rules.

Feature limitations
- Discounts will not work with private charters that are priced through custom fields, but will work with standard private charters using priced customer types.
- Combos will work both ways. There are no one-way combos.
- We are not able to support seasonality.
- We do not currently support discounts on specific availabilities.
- Discounts will not reflect on custom fields. Although clients that set pricing on custom fields can still use combos, discounts will not reflect accurately.
