When it comes to making larger transportation changes, please get in touch with FareHarbor Support and a member of our team will be happy to assist.
To make minor changes to your transportation setup, go to the Settings section of your Dashboard, then click Transportation from the sidebar. Here you’ll see three tabs: Lodging, Pickup Locations, and Routes.
Below we’ve outlined some common settings and how to update them.
Updating pickup settings and instructions
To update the name, instructions, or map for a pickup location, follow the steps below.
- Go to Settings > Transportation > Pickup Locations.
- Click Edit » next to the pickup location you want to update.
- Make your updates as needed, then click Save.

Updating the Map URL
- Go to Google Maps.
- Search for your pickup location.
- Click the Share icon (located in the menu on the left).
- Check the box next to “Short URL”.
- Copy and paste the URL into the Map URL box.

Updating the transportation custom field display
If needed, you can change what customers see when filling out their transportation information. For example, you may want to customize the description below the field or remove the room number option if it’s not applicable.
- Go to Settings > Custom Fields.
- Select Transportation to view your transportation custom fields.
Click Edit field on the field you want to update.

From the field’s settings, open the Edit field menu.
- Make your updates as needed, then click Save.

Updating self-transportation notes
Self-transportation notes are the instructions given to customers when they indicate that they do not need transportation to your tour or activity. For example, you may want to use self-transportation notes to tell customers when and where to meet you, or where to find parking. These notes are included in the customer’s confirmation email, and can be customized based on item or lodging.
You can update your self-transportation notes from three different places: your Dashboard settings, a specific item’s settings, or lodging settings. Learn more about each option below.
Dashboard settings
Self-transportation notes included here will be used for all items and availabilities by default.
- Go to Settings > Info & Policies.
- Scroll down to Default Self-Transportation Notes.
- Make your changes, then click Save changes.
Item settings
Self-transportation notes in an item’s settings will be used for that item only. Self-transportation notes in the item settings will override the self-transportation notes in your Dashboard settings.
- Go to the Items section of your Dashboard and choose the item you want to update.
- From the Settings section select Info & Policies.
- Scroll down to Default Self-Transportation Notes.
- Make your changes, then click Save changes.
This is also where you can set how many minutes before the start time your customers should arrive.
Lodging settings
These notes will only be shown for a specific lodging option. Self-transportation notes in lodging settings will override any self-transportation notes in your overall or item settings.
- Go to Settings > Transportation > Lodging.
- Click Edit » next to the lodging option you want to update.
- Click Edit beneath the name of the lodging option.
- Make your changes in the Self-transportation notes box, then click Save.
Updating routes
To add, remove, or reorder the pickup stops in a route:
- Go to Settings > Transportation > Routes.
- Click Edit » next to the route you want to update.
If needed, you can also change the route’s name by clicking Edit directly below the current name.
Reordering pickups
Pickups are ordered by time, then SKU, then ID. In most cases, you can reorder the pickups in a route simply by changing their time. (Note: After saving a new time, pickups won’t automatically be reordered. However, the next time you visit the route’s settings or view your manifest, the new order will be displayed.)
If you have multiple pickups with same time assigned to them, you can reorder these stops using pickup SKUs. Here’s a short demo on how to do this:
Pickups with blank SKUs will be shown first, followed by the rest of the pickups in alphabetical order (note that SKUs beginning with numbers will come before those beginning with letters).
