ASN
Standing for Affiliate Shortname. This is a booking link that allows an affiliate to resell a charter company’s activities. These links are generated on the charter company’s dashboard and have special URL queries to tag the affiliate.
Banner
Typically a colorful call to action that stretches the top across the top of a client’s website. Integrations is able to add these banners to clients sites as long as the content is a booking call to action.

Book Buttons
Styled links on the webpage that ask customers to book. When clicked will take the customer to FareHarbor booking.
Floating book button: A button that stays in the corner of the screen as the customer scrolls. This offers the customer a clear Call-to-action no matter where they are on the site.
Static book button: A button placed in the flow of content on the page. Buttons will scroll along with the rest of the content on the page
Button Examples:

Booking Link
Used to describe the web url that we attach to buttons on the site. Clicking or entering this link into the web browser will bring the user to FareHarbor booking.. These links can be generated in the “Book Buttons and Embeds” section of the dashboard. This can be referred to as a Link, URL, HREF, or Anchor.

Caching
A process in which website files are temporarily stored for easier access. These files can be stored on the user’s browser, in the website CMS, or on the server. By storing these files in easy to access places, a website can load faster. If updates on a website are not showing up, it is likely cached. Try clearing your browser cache, opening in an incognito window or hard refreshing the page (COMMAND+SHIFT+R). If you are still not seeing the updates, wait a bit and try again. The cache should clear within a few hours but can sometimes take up to a day.
Content Management System (CMS)
This is where the clients edit and manage their site. Some common Content Management Systems are Wordpress, Squarespace, Wix, Joomla, or Drupal. In order to edit a clients website, we need to know what CMS the site is built with and what the login credentials are.

Embeds
Scripts from the dashboard, placed on the website that render the content of a flow directly on the page. This can be in the form of either an Embedded Calendar or Embedded Grid.
Embed Examples:

Flows
Used to organize items into categories or groups to help customers navigate through the online booking process. Booking flows can be embedded on websites as links, calendars, or buttons. Note that updates on booking flows automatically update on the website, so there is no need to reintegrate when editing booking flows.
FTP
Standing for File Transfer Protocol, this is a way for us to directly access and edit the site files on the server. This often allows us to edit more than we can access via the content management system. In some cases, if we are not able to integrate through the CMS, we may ask to get FTP. FTP logins are found through the client’s hosting provider. It should consist of a server address, username, and password. Please make sure to request all three.
iFrame
An inline frame (iframe) is a HTML element that loads another HTML webpage within the document. It essentially puts another webpage within the parent page. They are commonly used for advertisements, embedded videos, and interactive content.
Note: there are certain content management systems that put any custom code into iFrames and since they are secured elements, having our content inside another parent iframe breaks the ability to LightFrame. Examples are WIX and GoDaddy.
Lightframe
The LightFrame is the booking window that sits on top of the website when a book button is clicked. This allows the customer to complete their entire booking without ever leaving the site. In order for a site to LightFrame, a piece of javascript needs to be added into every page of the site. You can instruct clients to add this to the footer code of every page or submit a request to have us add it. The Lightframe API is as follows:

Mobile Integration
The integration as it appears on mobile devices. Our integration is mobile responsive, meaning that the buttons will automatically resize for different screens without needing a separate integration.
Permissions
Most content management systems allow users to be created with different levels of access to the site. In order to integrate properly, the integrations team needs access to all features of the site. Please make sure when requesting login, to have them grant us “full admin access”.
Plugin
Plugins are most commonly used on Wordpress sites. These are packages that can be installed on a website to enable additional functionality. We install the FareHarbor Plugin on all Wordpress sites. This plugin adds the lightframe API and the Stylesheet.

Stylesheet
The FH stylesheet is a piece of code that allows clients to add customizable book buttons to their website. Once it is added, the client can add HTML tags to create links, and add CSS classes to style them.

URL
The address of the webpage. This is what is entered into the search bar to access a website. An example of a URL is https://fareharbor.com/
Webpage
Webpages are individual pages of content that exist under the umbrella of a single website.
Website
Website is the term used to describe all of the pages under a specific url. For example, fareharbor.com and fareharbor.com/ are 2 webpages that both exist as part of the same website.
2 Factor Authentication
This is a security protocol that we see on many content management systems. When we login for the first time, the CMS may send a code to the client’s phone or email to verify they are aware of the login attempt. In order to login, we need to get this 2FA code from the client and enter it from our side. We may ask for your help in contacting the client to obtain the code. Please note that if you were able to login without 2FA, that does not mean that we will be able to do the same.
