How to set up an analytics integration
Last updated: January 6, 2023
Integrating an analytics account with a company’s Dashboard allows the account to receive valuable conversion data from the Lightframe.
FareHarbor can be integrated with multiple analytics services, including Google Analytics, Facebook conversion pixel, and AdRoll.
Important notes:
- Integrated analytics accounts will be sent conversion data from the Lightframe. Google Analytics is the only service that will also receive page view data.
- Currently, only FareHarbor Admins can access and enable the Analytics & Tracking section of a company’s Dashboard.
Adding an analytics account
- Go to Settings > Analytics & Tracking.
Click New analytics service.
- From the Type dropdown, choose which service you want to add.
- SKU: Enter as much information as possible about the service you’re adding.
- Required information (when applicable) includes: Reason for tag or Marketing Company name • Website • Analytics account
- Add the required code or IDs.
- If needed, check the box Only activate when present on external site (read more about this option below).
Click Create analytics service.

Using SKUs
Analytics can be added to affiliate websites to track data for charter companies. In these cases, the SKU is helpful for specifying whether the account is for an affiliate or for the current Dashboard.
Best practice for entering information into the SKU field is to include as much of the following information as possible, in this order, separated by “•”:
- Reason for tag or Marketing Company name • Website • Analytics account
- Example: FH Marketing • example.com • a59
‘Only activate when present on external site’ checkbox
By default, this box is not checked. You will usually only need to use it when dealing with charter companies whose items are also being sold on affiliate websites.
To avoid skewing a charter website’s data with data from affiliate websites, we can tell the Lightframe to only run analytics when the same account code or ID is present on the underlying website (since most charter companies will also be using the same analytics account for their website).
Note that when this box is checked, the client will only receive data when the same account code/ID is present on the underlying website.
Custom code
If using the custom code option, be sure to check with the Product team to ensure that the values for the Code and Identifiers fields are entered correctly.
Annotating Implementations
In addition to providing adequate information in the SKU, annotation of actions in the Analytics & Tracking section of the dashboard can help FH Admins with fact finding, troubleshooting, and general organization so that we can more efficiently service our Clients.
How? The ability to comment on activity logs should be utilized for any annotation to tie the “why” of what is done to the “when”. This is applicable when you are first implementing a code as well as when you edit/change existing implementations.
