Pricing

How to use the Pricing tab
The pricing is designed to be very flexible and to make it faster and easier for customers to figure out how much their experience will cost. Using this feature correctly will also minimize ongoing upkeep by Live Site Specialists.
Primary and Alternate Pricing
Primary and Alternate Pricing are a way for site builders to break down each customer type into 2 distinct pricing groups. Here are some instances these may be helpful:
- Standard pricing vs. discount pricing
- Member pricing vs. non-member pricing
- Peak season vs. shoulder season
- On-location vs. online pricing
- Any other pair of descriptors that are mutually exclusive
By default Alternate prices have a strikethrough
Labeling Pricing Headings
The Primary and Alternate Pricing headings can be labeled, and those entries will show up as the headings of 2 labeled columns in the pricing section on an activity page. Alternate Pricing will be the first column after the customer types, the Primary Pricing will come next. This allows the company to offer 2 types of pricing for every customer type.
By default if no customer types are used, the main Primary and Alternate pricings will be used in the pricing section, with a customer type named “From.”
Currency
Under Settings > Company Settings > Contact Info tab, there are two fields:

Currency is the Global Currency that should match what the client’s FareHarbor Dashboard currency is using.
Alternate Price Currency is the Global Alternate Price Currency, and it is an optional field. This field will only affect alternate prices in activity page price tables with strikethrough disabled. This field is best used if the client wants to show two different currencies for their activities.
Note: The activity block “from” price will display the Currency selection not the Alternate Price Currency.
How does the Alternate Price Currency work:
Once you select the currency for the Alternate Price Currency under Settings > Company Settings > Contact Info tab.

Go to an activity page under Activities, and click on the Pricing tab.
Under Customer Types and Prices > Customer Type Price Options > Check the box: Disable Strikethrough.
On the same table under Alternate (Strikethrough) Price, you should see the currency you selected in Alternate Price Currency, and you can add the price number.

Click update or publish. View the activity, and you should see two prices: On the right, you will see the Currency price, and on the left, you will see the Alternate Price Currency.

What if the Alternate Price Currency needs to be changed/overrode on one or more activities?
In the same way, you can override the Global Currency in an activities page > Pricing tab > Currency Override.
There is an Alternate Price Currency Override field under the Pricing tab.

Select the currency under Alternate Price Currency Override, and change the price under Alternate (Strikethrough) Price. Click update.

View your activity, and you will see the currency has been overridden with the selection from Alternate Price Currency Override

How the Alternate Price Currency works
Price as a Range
There is the capability to have the price as a range on Activity Blocks and Featured Activity Rows by selecting the ‘Treat alternate price as a range. (Starting Price – Alternate Price)’ option. When this is selected the value of the ‘Alternate (Strikethrough) Price’ becomes the upper end of the price range instead of an alternate price.
Customer Types
Customer Types are the labels assigned to a price that are consistent with the customer type labels in the dashboard. They can be “Adult,” “Senior,” and “Child,” or “1-Hour Rental,” “2-Hour Rental,” and “4-Hour Rental,” or it could refer to the type of vehicle the customer will rent.
- Customer types can include a subtitle to display more information. For example, the subtitle might list the age range associated with a child customer type.
- Customer types will include the ability to enter 2 prices (corresponding with the Primary and Alternate headings). This could be useful in displaying how an “Adult” customer type might be one price if they are a member, and a different price if they are not. The Alternate Price will be red with a strikethrough by default, but this feature can be disabled per customer type.
- A customer type can be used as a heading to even further categorize complex pricing. For instance, even if you use Member and Non-Member as your pricing headings, you may want to separate out the customer types based on a morning or afternoon boat ride. This would allow a person to quickly find the time of day, then their age, then look to the “member” pricing if that applies to them.
- A customer type can also be prevented from displaying on the activity page. This will be most useful when using the price sync button.
Price Sync
The ‘FareHarbor Sync’ button/page can pull pricing information from the FH dashboard and update or add pricing information for customer types on FH sites. This feature is best used on sites where pricing on the corresponding dashboard is simple, accurate, and up-to-date.
Objectives and Expectations
What is the main goal of syncing prices with FHS?
- To ensure that the prices displayed on FHS are as accurate and up to date as possible with the latest pricing in the FH Dashboard.
- This reduces discrepancies, improves client & customer trust, and enhances the user booking experience by eliminating price mismatches.
What specific outcomes do we expect from using Price Sync?
- Clients can confidently rely on the pricing displayed on their sites.
- Fewer manual updates for clients, reducing workload and errors.
- Improved booking conversion rates due to price transparency.
- Compliance with pricing regulations for regions where price accuracy is legally required.
How frequently should price updates be synced? (Is it real-time/daily/weekly?)
- MVP focus on syncing “From Price” (on activity cards) and “Customer Types & Pricing” (on the activity pages).
- Syncing is on a 24-hour schedule
- There is a manual “Sync Now” button available.
Scope and Requirements
Which FH sites need to be synced? Are we looking at different regions, currencies, or pricing models?
- All FHS clients have access to enable Price Sync
Price Sync supports:
- Activity must be linked to only one item
- Price ranges
- Price sheet
- Free activities
- Affiliate activities
- Events and timed activities (NOTE – Only once events or activities become active will they be updated via Price Sync)
- Pricing with fees included
- Retail Items
Price Sync does not support:
- Utilize multiple currencies
- Have alternate or strike-through pricing
- Have activities linked to multiple Dashboard items
- Feature events and timed activities that are no longer active
Technical Context
What system or tool is Price Sync using? (Is it a plugin, API, or internal tool?)
- We are using the FH Pricing Overview Endpoint (API)
- Example
- The sync is running on a CRON, so we defined a period of time that pricing is updated in our database using the FH endpoint
Are there any known limitations or challenges with this function?
- API rate limits may affect how frequently price changes can be pulled
- Some clients may have custom pricing logic that isn’t directly supported in the sync
- Sites with heavy caching might not reflect updates immediately
Risks and Dependencies
What are potential risks if the price sync doesn’t work correctly?
- Incorrect pricing displayed on sites could lead to customer disputes and refunds
- Potential loss of trust from clients if discrepancies persist
Are there any dependencies on other systems or teams? (Does it rely on another data source?)
- Relies on the FareHarbor Dashboard API for pricing data
Are there any compliance/legal considerations when syncing prices?
- Some regions require that displayed prices match advertised pricing exactly
- Price updates must reflect any mandatory taxes and fees
Where to Find Price Sync
- Navigate to the Settings tab
- Click on FareHarbor Sync
This will open the FareHarbor Sync Admin Page, where you can enable Price Sync.
The Admin Page also provides:
- A brief description of the feature
- A status check showing whether Price Preview is enabled for the site’s shortname in the Dashboard
Please Note: Price Preview is not required to enable Price Sync. However, if local regulations require it, please make sure to enable Price Preview in the FareHarbor Dashboard.
View the screenshot below to locate FareHarbor Sync in settings:

The next screenshot shows how the window will look if the shortname does have Price Previews enabled:

How to Enable Price Sync
- Toggle Enable Price Sync so that it turns blue
- Click Save Changes
Once saved:
- The page will reload automatically
- Price Sync will be enabled for all eligible items on the website (i.e., items that meet all required conditions)
- A new green FareHarbor Sync button will appear in the Admin Bar — clicking this will bring you directly to the FareHarbor Sync Admin Page.
Please Note: All eligible items will automatically sync with the Dashboard. If you do not want an item to sync, you can disable Price Sync for specific items directly in the table.

What Happens After Enabling Price Sync
Once Price Sync is enabled and the Admin Page reloads, a new item table will appear displaying all items associated with the site. This table allows you to manage and monitor Price Sync activity for each item.
Item Table Columns:
- Item ID: Displays the linked Item ID from the FareHarbor Dashboard. An ❌ icon appears if no Item ID is found on the activity page.
- Shortname:Typically matches the company shortname. If the site uses alternate shortnames for activities, those will appear here. Each shortname links to the corresponding item in the Dashboard.
- Activity: Shows the name of the activity as it appears on the site. This links directly to the activity page.
- Price Sync Enabled: Allows you to toggle Price Sync on or off for each individual activity.
- Last Status: Indicates whether sync is working. Green dot = sync successful; Red dot = Sync issue (with a short explanation of what went wrong and suggested actions)
- Last Sync: Displays the date and time of the most recent sync.
- Actions: Includes a “Sync Now” button to manually trigger syncing if you don’t want to wait for the next scheduled (daily) sync.

Sync Schedule Overview
On the right side above the table, you’ll see a Sync Schedule box. This section provides a quick snapshot of your sync activity:
- Last Run: Displays the date and time of the most recent automatic sync
- Next Run:Shows the scheduled date and time of the next sync
- Frequency: Currently set to once daily — the sync runs every 24 hours from the time Price Sync was first enabled
- Sync Count:Tracks the total number of automatic syncs since Price Sync was enabled (manual syncs are not included in this count)

- There are different frequency settings for Price Sync, they include: Once daily, Twice daily, or Every 6 hours.

Activity Page View (When Price Sync is Enabled)
When Price Sync is enabled for an individual activity:
- The Price tab will no longer display any manual price fields
- Instead, you’ll see a message indicating that Price Sync is active
- The message will include a note: “…Please update pricing on your FareHarbor dashboard or submit a ticket. To turn off PriceSync for this activity, change settings here.”

Bulk Action Options
In the top-left or bottom-left corner of the table, you’ll find bulk action controls that let you manage multiple items at once. Simply check the boxes next to the items you want to update, then choose from the following actions:
- Sync Selected: Manually sync only the selected items
- Enable Sync:Turn on Price Sync for the selected items
- Disable Sync: Turn off Price Sync for the selected items
- Sync All:Click to sync the latest pricing data for all items with Price Sync enabled.

How to Disable Price Sync in Bulk
- Select the items you want to disable by checking the box next to each activity. A checkmark will appear once selected.
- From the Bulk Actions dropdown, choose Disable Sync.
- Click Apply to confirm the action.

What Happens After Bulk Disabling
Once you apply the Disable Sync action, the table will refresh, and all affected items will update accordingly:
- Price Sync Enabled toggle will be turned off and shown in grey
- Last Status will display a grey dot, indicating that syncing is currently disabled

From Price Logic Display
FHS now determines the From price based on combinations of the following Dashboard settings:
- Price preview (on/off)
- Use for price preview starting price (enabled on customer type)
- Include booking fees and/or taxes in price previews
Review the table for full From price logic displays:
