Conference Projects
Last updated: September 19, 2023
People on the Sales team often attend industry conferences around the world where they meet potential clients. Before a conference, FareHarbor is sent a list of conference attendees. This list will include a combination of companies that are live on FareHarbor, companies that are bad fits, companies that are good fits and already in Close and companies that are good fits that are not in Close. Lead Generation uses these lists to update leads in Close to prepare the Sales team for the conferences.
How to complete a Conference Project
- Open the list of conference attendees.
- Check if the company is in Close.
- If the company is not in Close, determine if it is a good fit
- If it is a good fit, load the company. Only load companies that are located in countries supported by FareHarbor.
- If it is a bad fit (i.e., marketing companies, competitors, web developers, any company that cannot use FareHarbor, etc.), do not load the company.
If the company is already in Close or once you load the company:
- Add the Conference custom field, selecting the name of the conference. This is a multi-select custom field, so if the custom field is already present in the lead, just select the conference.
- The list of conference attendees will most likely include the names of people from the company that are attending the conference.
- If the contact from the list is NOT already in the lead, add the contact and their info. If the contact IS in the lead, add additional info (if applicable).
- Add the name of the conference to the title of the attendees:
- Format: Job Title | [conference name] Attendee – [month & year]
- Remove old conference names from the titles.
- Do not move the position of the contacts in the lead.
