Guide to partnering and reselling with other FareHarbor clients
Last updated: October 6, 2025
FareHarbor allows you the option to partner with other tour operators to promote or sell each other’s offerings. This helps you expand your reach, increase booking opportunities, and provide customers with more ways to discover experiences.
Are you already reselling other tours? Or thinking about letting others resell yours? Great! You have two options to do this:
- Option A: Create direct partnerships to promote or upsell partner tours.
- Option B: Use the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN) and let us deal with contracts and payments on your behalf.

Choose how you want to partner
Option A: Direct partnership
You and another business agree to work together, on your terms. You decide the structure, pricing, and partnership model without any intermediaries. With this partnership type you can either refer customers to your partner’s tours or directly offer them during checkout.
Option A-1: Promote partner offerings separately
How it works:
You refer customers to your partner’s booking flow using one of the following options:
- a referral link
- QR code
- book on their behalf directly in the Dashboard
When to use it:
- You want to refer customers to a partner while keeping the booking process separate.
- The offerings are optional add-ons or not very time-sensitive.
- You don’t coordinate itineraries or need the items booked together.
Examples of this direct partnership type:
- A charter operator linking to a recommended dinner cruise via QR code or confirmation email.
- A hotel promoting local excursions on a partner’s booking page.

Option A-2: Add partner offerings during online checkout
Use FareHarbor’s Cross-Sell Combos feature to sell another operator’s item as an add-on.
Important note: Cross-Sell Combos do not support commissions or affiliate tracking.
When to use it:
- You want to bundle offerings together as part of the same customer journey.
- Guests are likely to buy both experiences at once (e.g., same-day or back-to-back bookings).
- You want to streamline the booking process with one flow and higher order value.
- You’re collaborating closely with partners or are managing multiple Dashboards.
Examples of this direct partnership type:
- A city walking tour that offers a lunch reservation or e-bike rental during checkout, letting guests customize their day without needing to plan separately.
- A morning wildlife cruise paired with an evening sunset kayak tour, giving guests the option to build a full-day adventure, entirely in a single booking flow.
Option B: Use the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN)
With this option you allow FareHarbor to do the heavy lifting for you. The FHDN includes the following benefits:
- Contracts, invoicing, and payouts are handled automatically.
- Standard 20% commission (15% to the reseller, 5% to FareHarbor).
- Access to the FHDN Marketplace to discover and list partner tours.
- Track performance by reporting on resold bookings (FHDN report).
Best for: Businesses looking for a fast and easy way to collaborate.
Decide how you want to resell
| When | Example | How to sell |
|---|---|---|
| Before booking | A “More things to do” page on your website. | Referral links – share links anywhere (website, social, etc.). |
| During booking | Upselling – offer Cross-Sell Combos during checkout. | Online checkout – upsell partner offerings during checkout using the Combos feature. |
| After booking | Add a tour suggestion to the confirmation email. | Post-sell – promote partner tours in confirmation emails. |
| On-site resell | Use a printed QR code or concierge tablet. | Referral links – link to partners via QR codes or tablets. |
| Offline (internal) | Direct bookings into another operator’s calendar (affiliate Dashboard). | Book directly into another operator’s calendar via the affiliate Dashboard. |
