How do I download a manifest or report?
Last updated: September 16, 2019
Downloading CSV files
When working with reports and manifests, you have the option to download your data as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file. This is a plain text file that can be opened and edited in a program like Excel or Google Sheets.
In your Dashboard, the Download CSV option is available on most reports, as well as the manifest. (Note: If there is no data for your selected date range, you won’t see the Download option).
To download a CSV file of your data, click the
icon.
Help with slow downloads
If you see the ‘Trouble with slow downloads?’ note when using the download button, we recommend switching your web browser to Google Chrome for its advanced download support. (Learn more about the software we recommend for using FareHarbor here.)
Or, see below for an alternative, faster download option for your browser.
If you’re downloading a large set of data and using a web browser such as Safari or Internet Explorer, you may find that downloads can pause at the “Processing…” stage for a few moments. In cases where the delay is too long, there is an alternate method you can use to download the file more quickly:
Hold the alt or option key on your keyboard while clicking the “Download CSV” menu item. This will open the file in a new browser tab.
Save the web page. You can do this a few different ways:
- Navigate to File > Save As
- Right click on the page and select “Save Page As…”
- On your keyboard, press Command-S (on a Mac) or Ctrl-S (on a PC)
Enter a name for the file. We recommend including a date or date range in the name so it’s easier to find later.
In the dropdown next to Format, change from Web Archive to Page Source.
Click Save.
