Updating the Payment Setup Checklist
Last updated: May 12, 2022
Note: This page describes updating your verification information. Read about entering your payment information for the first time.
In order to comply with changing “Know Your Customer” regulations, you may be required to provide additional information to verify your account after your initial verification.
How do I know if I need to update my verification?
If you are required to update your verification information, you will see orange banners notifying you on your Dashboard:

How long do I have to complete this?
If there is a date on the orange notification banner, that date is the deadline for updating your verification information without an interruption to your payouts and payments.
If there is no date on the orange notification banner, then your payouts and payments are already affected and you must update your verification information as soon as possible.
Why wasn’t I notified?
You must be subscribed to receive notifications and emails about verification. If you were subscribed, you should have received an email notifying you about required reverification. Check your user settings or learn more about notifications.
Starting the reverification process
- Select the Settings button at the top of your Dashboard.
- Select Banks & Payments and locate the “Payment Setup Checklist”.
Select Enter customer verification information, then click Start to begin.

Once you begin, you will be taken to our payment processor’s secure portal to complete the reverification. Continue reading the sections below to learn more about the information you may be required to enter.
Note: DO NOT click the Save for Later button at any point, as that will record that you didn’t complete the verification process, leading to issues with accepting payments.
Updating your business information
If you’ve registered your company as a corporation, you may need to update details of your business. These typically include:
- Address (note that PO Box addresses are not accepted)
- Business ID (such as EIN or Tax ID)
- Business URL and description
- Proof of company registration (common for countries in the European Economic Area)
- Business email
- Business phone number
If you’re registered as an individual or sole proprietor, you may need to update your business URL or business description.
Updating your business URL or description
When prompted, enter your business website into the field provided and select Next. If you don’t have a business website, you can select Add a product description instead.

If you decide to add a product description, enter a brief description about your business (note: selecting your industry is optional).
Updating your business ID
In some cases, you may need to re-enter your Business Identification Number. A common reason for this is an error while entering it the first time. Ensure that you provide the correct number by clicking Replace.

Please note that your business ID depends on the country your business is registered in. For example, in the United States, it’s known as the Employer Identification Number (as shown in the image above). Here are a few more examples:
- Mexico: Company RFN
- EU or EEA: Vat ID
- Australia: ABN
Updating your business address
You may be required to update your business address. Common reasons for this include an error while entering it the first time, or a PO box was provided as the address (PO boxes are not accepted as valid addresses).
Proof of company registration
In some countries (common for businesses registered in the European Economic Area), you’ll be required to upload a copy of the proof of your company registration, also known as a Certificate of Incorporation. Please ensure that you have a scanned image of your Certificate of Incorporation, so that you may upload it for verification.
Note: Do not skip this step if asked, as it may result in problems accepting payments.

Updating your individual information
You may need to provide additional information about individuals if one of the following categories was not verified:
- Social Security Number (note: take care to enter all numbers correctly)
- Address (remember, PO boxes are not accepted as valid addresses)
- Job title of individual with the company (this is only applicable if your business is registered as a corporation)
Updating your addresses or social security numbers
Ensure that the address entered is accurate, up-to-date, and doesn’t contain typos.
Note: PO boxes are not accepted as valid addresses.
- Ensure that the Social Security Number (if you’re a US resident) is accurate.
Updating your job title
Ensure that your job title or position is accurate. Common examples include: CEO, Owner, Director, or Manager.
Photo identification
In some cases, you will also be required to upload a scanned image of your business owner’s ID. Acceptable IDs are a passport, a national or state identity card, or driver’s license.
Please note the following when uploading your photo ID:
- The scanned image must be in color, clear, and complete. You will need a scanned image of the front and back of the ID card or the photo page of the passport.
- This information is not stored by FareHarbor and will be sent directly to our payment processor for verification.
Updating information that has already been verified
If the information you provided originally has been successfully verified, then no further action is required from you. Verified information is denoted by a green check mark on the verification summary screen.
You can still update information (like your address or phone number) by selecting either the pencil icon or the Update button. Some of the common reasons to update your information may include change of contact information or change of ownership information.

After you’re done updating, select Done and you’ll be returned to your FareHarbor Dashboard settings page.
