How do I add my FareHarbor calendar to my mobile device or computer?
Last updated: March 25, 2022
You can subscribe to your availabilities using a calendar program on your iOS or Android phone or tablet, Google Calendar, or any app that supports the ICS format. This can be useful for keeping tabs on your bookings along with the rest of your schedule.
Booking information on a synced calendar includes the customer’s name, booking number, contact information, total amount paid and due, and any custom fields that were filled out.
Finding your subscription URL
To subscribe to your FareHarbor calendar, find and copy the unique subscription URL for your company (or the specific item you want to import), then add the URL to the calendar app or program of your choice.
Note: If your Dashboard has many items and bookings, there may be too much data for your calendar program to download the calendar of all items. In this case, you’ll want to subscribe to each item individually instead.
For a single item:
- Go to the Items section of your Dashboard and select an item.
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Subscribe to Calendar.
- Click the Create API Key button.

Copy the the subscription URL with your API Key appended:
Example of a single item subscription URL in FareHarbor:

For all items
- Go to your Dashboard Settings.
From the Settings menu, go to Build > Integrations > Subscribe to Calendar.
If you do not see the Build section, your permissions may need to be updated. Contact FareHarbor Support and we’ll be happy to help!
- Click the Create API Key button.

Copy the the subscription URL as shown.

Note: You will only see the Create API Key button if you do not yet have an API key in your Dashboard.

Notes
- Only availabilities with active bookings will be synced to your device.
- Calendars sync bookings 7 days in the past and 42 days in the future.

Additional questions and troubleshooting below.
Why do we only sync 42 days in the future?
Because we use a subscription approach for syncing calendars (instead of integrating with an API), sending data can take longer and eventually lead to timeouts if the user’s calendar is trying to sync a large number of bookings.
Currently we sync bookings 7 days in the past and 42 days in the future to avoid timeouts for larger companies with many availabilities. Although the limitation was primarily implemented for Google Calendar, the same cutoffs apply for other calendar apps as well.
Why don’t I see the ‘Create API Key’ button?
FH Admins have a different view than company users logged into their own Dashboard. Instead of the Create API Key button, you will see a subscription URL with API-KEY at the end:

How do I create a subscription URL for a company?
As a FH Admin, you can create subscription URLs per user. A user’s subscription URL can be used more than once, but you should double check whether or not the user has the permission “View only assigned bookings and availabilities” (if they do, the calendar subscription will only show availabilities that the user is assigned to).
To do this:
- Open the company’s Dashboard, and navigate to Settings > Users & Permissions.
- Select a user and go to the tab API Keys.
- Add an API key for the user.
- Copy the string in the “Key” column and paste it in a text editor.
- Go to the company’s Settings > Integrations > Subscribe to calendar.
- When adding the subscription URL for the company, copy the subscription URL provided and replace
API-KEYwith the string you copied in Step 4.
Why can’t the client see the ‘Integrations’ section?
Currently, if a user’s permission group doesn’t allow them to see any other sections under Settings > Build, we hide the entire section to the user. This means it’s possible for a user to not be able to see the Integrations section in the Settings sidebar.
A report has been filed to update the logic around this, but in the meantime, you can create a workaround by giving the permission group access to any other part of the build section, such as “View gift cards” (these settings are located in the Setup section of the permission group).
Once their permission group has been updated, the user should then be able to view only the Gift Cards and Integrations sections:
