Using FareHarbor in demo mode
Last updated: June 2, 2021
When your Dashboard is first set up by the FareHarbor team, it will be put into demo mode. This allows you to practice making and managing bookings without any transactions actually being made.
Logging into demo mode
To log into your demo Dashboard, use the login URL, username, and password provided to you by your FareHarbor Onboarding Specialist.
If you are seeing a Company not found error when attempting to log in, make sure that the URL you are using has a “preview” tag at the end of it. This is required when your Dashboard is still in demo mode, and should look something like this:
https://fareharbor.com/wizardacademy/?preview=af4b48
If you do not have your demo login URL, please reach out to your Onboarding Specialist.
Making bookings in demo mode
Using your Dashboard in demo mode allows you to make bookings just as you would for real customers, without any credit card transactions actually going through.
Important: All demo bookings will be removed when your Dashboard is taken out of demo mode.
Using a test credit card
Fill out the credit card payment section of your book form using the demo credit card number 4242424242424242. You may enter any future expiration date and CVC number.

In demo mode, you must always use the test credit card number. You will not be able to make bookings with any other number.
Note: If you have a credit card reader, you can also test out the reader while in demo mode; however, you won’t be able to make completed bookings using real credit card information.
Going live
Once you feel comfortable using your Dashboard and your website is integrated with FareHarbor, you’re ready to go live!
Your Onboarding Specialist will take your Dashboard out of demo mode and send you an email with next steps.
A few things to remember once your Dashboard is live:
All test bookings will be deleted when your Dashboard is taken out of demo mode.
Your login URL will no longer contain the “preview” tag (instead, it will look something like
https://fareharbor.com/yourcompany/login/). If you’re not sure how to log in, check with your Onboarding Specialist or see our Logging into your Dashboard page.We recommend completing the Payment Setup Checklist as soon as possible, so you can start receiving credit card payments through FareHarbor. FareHarbor cannot deposit money into your bank account until this checklist has been completed.
Training new employees
Once your Dashboard is live, it can’t be switched back to demo mode. If you would like to train new employees on how to use FareHarbor, we suggest checking out the rest of our Help Center. Many of these pages include short video tutorials on how to perform basic tasks such as creating bookings and updating availabilities.
We are also happy to provide you with a recording of your company’s initial training, or set up a training session with your new employees, if needed. Please contact our Support Team for more information.

What is the difference between using a production Dashboard in demo mode and Dashboards on demo.fareharbor.com?
When a new client is onboarded, their Dashboard is initially set to demo mode on fareharbor.com, as described on the Content tab in this help page. Once they have been fully onboarded and are ready to start making bookings, the Dashboard will be taken out of demo mode. A Dashboard on fareharbor.com is set to demo mode in the Advanced Settings:

This is not the same as a Dashboard that was created on demo.fareharbor.com, which is for internal use only, and can be a way for you to create companies, add items and use the full functionality of the product without affecting production data. Refer to this help page for information on how to set up a demo Dashboard on demo.fareharbor.com.
Note: Dashboards created on demo.fareharbor.com cannot be moved or transferred to a production Dashboard on fareharbor.com. You will have to build the new company and Dashboard from scratch on fareharbor.com.
