Crew notifications
Last updated: October 28, 2024
Crew members can receive notifications from FareHarbor for updates related to their assigned tours or activities. Notifications can be in the form of either an email or a push notification on the FareHarbor app.
There are several notification options available for crew members:
- When added or removed as crew: Notifies the user whenever they are added or removed as crew on an availability.
- Crew reminder: Notifies the user of an upcoming availability for which they have been assigned as crew.
- New bookings: Notifies the user when a new booking is created for an availability they are assigned to.
- Cancelled bookings: Notifies the user when a booking is cancelled for an availability they are assigned to.
- Manifest link: Sends the user a manifest link for each availability on which they are assigned as crew. By default, this notification is sent 24 hours before the availability start time.

Crew notifications will only be sent if the user has the View crew assignments permission enabled.
The When added or removed as crew notification is not sent when crew is added or removed via the availability updater.
Emails forwarded as SMS
If you ever see something like this:

It’s likely because the user tried to forward an email to their phone as a text message. This can be done by typing a phone number in the “To” field followed by a gateway address for the user’s cell phone provider (like @txt.att.net for AT&T or @vtext.com for Verizon).

Keep in mind that emails forwarded as text may not always be legible.
