Connected Invoice Sheets
Last updated: April 19, 2023
Connected invoice sheets allow invoice sheets to inherit pricing from the total price sheet associated with the booking, and therefore calculate percentage commissions automatically.
By connecting the prices on invoice sheets with total price sheets, when prices update on the total price sheet, the price change will also reflect on a booking’s invoice price.
Connected invoice sheets should always be used when the commission is a percentage of the total price. The connected invoice sheet will automatically read X% of whatever total price sheet is used on the booking. For this reason, we will no longer need to create invoice schedules for connected invoice sheets, except for when commission % changes from one period to the next.
How to create a connected invoice sheet

When setting up a connected invoice sheet, be sure to uncheck ‘This sheet inherits from the base sheet’.
The Connected label appears on the invoice sheet when in the Price Sheets view.

Here is an example of how the invoice sheet looks on the Affiliate page:

We add an
icon next to the invoice sheet name in the Affiliates table as well.

Setup – What happens when connected invoice sheets are enabled?
Invoice commission is calculated off the total sheet’s pricing (+taxes) on the booking Example (below)
Invoice Sheet – Referral – 10% (Not taxed) calculates 10% commission of any total sheet/price used on the booking.
Visibility, Price, Tax, and Final Price do not show in the price overview since they are dependent on the sheet used on the booking.
Commission can still be set or overridden per customer type or item by using the “rate” column. When an affiliate has different commission rates per item and/or customer types, make the commission 0% at the invoice sheet level. Then override the commissions where applicable. Be sure to name accordingly- “Billing – 10% on whale watch | 20% on all other items”.

Good Fits
Any affiliate setup that uses commission percentages (%).
Especially beneficial for:
- Dashboards that have a lot of total sheets.
- Dashboards that have a lot of total schedules.
- Dashboards eventually using Dynamic Pricing.
Bad Fits
- Any affiliate setup that use a specific monetary amount instead of a percentage. For example, an affiliate will get $20 commission regardless of the total price.
