Analytics and Tracking
Last updated: June 19, 2023
Important notice:
Universal Analytics has been discontinued and no longer collects data. However, you can access historical data until July 2024, after which time Google will permanently remove the Universal Analytics property from Google Analytics accounts.
All client-facing GA4 help pages, including setup and configuration instructions for GA4 in FareHarbor are described here.
Analytics and Tracking are located under Settings > Company Settings > Analytics & Tracking. All FareHarbor Sites have a generic FareHarbor sites Google Analytics tag added to the site and should have an individual Google Analytics tag added that FareHarbor has access to.
For specific information on adding Google Analytics to a FareHarbor site and tracking please refer to this help page.
If a client has any additional analytics service that they would like to integrate with our sites and we do not currently have a field for it they need to send support the tracking script and it can be manually added to the site. The ticket needs to be posted in the #fhs_custom_requests room along with the site.
The fields are as follows:
Adroll Advertising/Pixel IDs
- An AdRoll Pixel is uniquely generated when a client creates an AdRoll account. AdRoll Pixels can recognize a unique visitor across devices. When you provide a cross-device ID to AdRoll, your ads will display on other devices that your visitor uses.
Bing Authentication/UET Codes
- If a client needs to verify ownership of the site through Bing, they should send you a Meta Tag Authentication. Copy the custom ownership verification code to the clipboard and add to this field.
- Universal Event Tracking (UET) is a tool that records what customers do on the website. By creating one UET tag and placing it on the site, Bing Ads will collect data that allows clients to track conversion goals and target audiences with remarketing lists.
Facebook Pixel IDs
- Facebook Pixel IDs are a string of numbers. Separate multiple IDs with commas.
- This tool is mainly used to track online visitors and re-target them with Facebook Ads in the future. Client should send you an ID.
Google Tag Manager ID
- IMPORTANT: Be sure to turn off the analytics/tracking embeds that will be managed by Google Tag Manager by deleting the IDs you have entered on this page. Do not, however, delete the IDs for embeds that will not be managed by GTM. Verify before deleting.
- Google Tag Manager is a user-friendly solution to managing the individual analytics tags.
- Tags should be in “GTM-XXXXXXX” format.
GA4 measurement IDs
- GA4 measurement IDs are in the format
G-XXXXXXX. Separate multiple IDs with commas.- This field can be found under the WordPress sidebar Settings tab, on the Company Settings page, in the Analytics & Tracking section.
- The field can accommodate both GA4 and Universal Analytics properties at the moment.
If a client does not have analytics, or we do not have access to their account, we MUST SET UP A GA4 ACCOUNT.
- Make sure this new account is recorded in the company Dashboard, Airtable, and Close.
All FareHarbor sites created since July 2022 should go live with a GA4 property tag at minimum (if they have a Universal Analytics property tag, both will be present until UA is deprecated).
All FareHarbor Sites come with G-2CHJ9R6QSF installed. This is non-negotiable and used to collect user trends, helping us understand why and when to update our WordPress theme. These are internal metrics of all FareHarbor Sites performance.
If your client operates under GDPR and requires the use of a cookie consent manager on their website, please inform the client that they are strongly encouraged to integrate with one of the cookie consent solutions that FareHarbor integrates with to receive analytics data from the Lightframe in their GA4.
If they do not adopt one of the solutions, they cannot receive data from the Lightframe after FareHarbor formalizes the integrations. The enactment date is TBD, we will update this information once we know more
