Removing and deleting custom fields
Last updated: June 3, 2022
Removing a custom field from an item means that it will no longer be shown when booking that item. An example might be a “snorkeling gear” add-on that you had previously offered on snorkeling tours, which is no longer needed because you are now including gear in the price of every tour.
Custom fields can be removed from several different places on your Dashboard, depending on whether you want to update a single item, multiple items at once, or your entire Dashboard. Here we’ll show you how to remove custom fields at each level.
Removing a custom field from a specific item
To remove a custom field from an item:
- Go to the Items section of your Dashboard and select the item you want to update.
- Under the Availability section, click Options & Prices.
Locate the specific field you want to update. Remember that fields can be added to individual customer types as well as entire bookings (which are located on the Whole-booking fields tab).

Click on the field to reveal the Remove option.
Click Remove.

A pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm. Click OK.
The field will no longer be shown when making bookings for that item (however, bookings that have already been made with the custom field will be unaffected).
Removing a custom field from multiple items
Using the Price Sheets Overview, you can remove custom fields for multiple items at a time.
- Go to Settings and select Price Sheets from the sidebar.
- Click the Overview tab at the top of the page.
- Open the Edit fields menu and select Remove fields.
Use the dropdown menu to find and select the custom field.

Depending on whether the field is used per customer or for the entire booking, click Customer types or Whole-booking fields.

Check the appropriate boxes under each item you want to remove the field from (to completely remove the field from the items, check all boxes).

Click the Remove button.
The field will no longer be shown when making bookings for those items (however, bookings that have already been made with the custom field will be unaffected).
Deleting a custom field from your Dashboard
Note: We don’t recommend deleting a custom field from your Dashboard entirely, unless it has never been used. If you want to remove the field from all of your items, you can do so by following the steps above. If you would like to keep the custom field where it is currently applied, but avoid seeing or using it on future items, you can archive the custom field.
To delete a custom field from your Dashboard:
- Make sure the custom field has been removed from all items in your Dashboard. Fields that are attached to items cannot be deleted.
- Go to Settings and select Custom Fields from the sidebar.
- Locate the custom field you want to delete (Fields are organized by type. If you’re not sure what the custom field type is, select All to see a full list of your fields.)
- Click the Edit button to go to its settings.
Click Delete field.

A pop-up will appear, asking you to confirm. Click OK.
Notes
Existing bookings already using the deleted custom field will not be affected.
You will still have the option to include deleted custom fields when generating a Custom Field Answers report. If a field has been deleted, it will be noted as such.
