Advanced reports overview
Last updated: May 30, 2025
Advanced reports allow you to create fully customizable reports using data from your Dashboard. There are several types of advanced reports based on the information they provide: Sales, Bookings, Customers, Custom Field Answers, and Expenses and Discounts.

For each advanced report type, you can create a report from scratch, or load a collection of pre-set options with a suggested report.
Learn more about generating and viewing advanced reports below, or see Advanced report settings for more information on filter, group, and column options.
Generating an advanced report
To generate an advanced report:
- Navigate to the Reports tab.
- Using the sidebar, select the report type that best fits your data needs. Learn more about available report types.
- Select the desired date range for reporting data. Learn more about date range settings.
- Select which data the system should report on via the Report on: field. (Note: Available data options are dependent upon the report type used.)
Select the ︾ Advanced settings dropdown, and adjust advanced report settings as needed. Learn more about advanced report settings.

Select the Generate button to populate the customized report. The system will return all Dashboard data that fits the selected parameters.
If the data that’s returned does not seem relevant, review and adjust the report type and parameters selected in Steps 2 – 5 above. Re-generate the report as needed.
Note: Saving the finalized report can allow for quicker access when referencing an advanced report regularly. Saved reports will be organized under the Performance section.

Viewing advanced reports
Advanced and general reports share several of the same options, such as the ability to sort columns and download your data. However, there are a few important differences when it comes to advanced reports.

Hide or show advanced settings
Open a report’s advanced settings by clicking Advanced from the toolbar.

From here, you can adjust the report’s date range, filters, groupings, and columns. Click the Expand button to expand the settings form (useful if you’re working with many filters or columns).

When you’re done, click Hide to collapse the advanced settings.
Show details
Click the
icon to go to a detailed view of a specific part of your report. For example, if you’re viewing bookings grouped by item, you can choose to “drill down” into the details for a specific item only.
You can adjust what information is shown in the detailed view by adding or removing detail columns and re-generating the report.
When viewing report details, you’ll see a breadcrumb outline above the report, showing you what specific data you’re looking at. You can click the links here to widen the scope of the detailed view, or return back to the main report by clicking Report.

Refresh your data
When viewing a report, you will see a “Report accurate as of…” status next to the Generate button. This allows you to keep an eye on how old the report is. To refresh a report with the most up-to-date data, simply click the Generate button again.
If needed, you can also click “Cancel” when a report is generating.
Share, download, print
As with all reports, you can share, download, or print your advanced reports. However, the download and print options won’t be available until you’ve generated the report.
Switching between reports
When viewing Advanced reports, you can switch between the different report types (Bookings, Customers, Custom Field Answers, and Expenses and Discounts) while keeping your current settings, such as date range, filters, and columns.
For example, if you’re looking at a Bookings report filtered to see only online bookings, and also want to see how many times a promotional code was used for those online bookings, you can switch to the Custom Field Answers report and add a filter for your promo code redemption field.
Note: When switching to a new report type, the new report will retain as many settings as possible from the previous one. However, depending on which report you’re switching to, certain filters, groups, and columns may no longer be applicable.
To switch between reports, open the Report type menu and choose a new Advanced report type. Near the top you’ll see the option to switch to that report.
