Bookme Pricing
Last updated: March 10, 2022
Who is Bookme?
Bookme is an Online Travel Agency where customers can find deals and last minute discounts on tours & activities throughout Australia and New Zealand.
Bookme has an External API with FareHarbor, but they don’t pull pricing from us. Tour suppliers listed on Bookme usually have multiple pricing points in addition to their Retail Pricing. In order to make pricing in both platforms match and have a precise reporting on FH, we need to create a special Bookme setup on our end and ask Bookme to map accordingly.
How pricing on Bookme works:
Let’s say a charter company has a tour at $50RRP.
Bookme and the charter agree to sell the tour at multiple price points ($45, $48, and $50) on the Bookme website.
In the FareHarbor Dashboard, we only have the regular price of $50. When a customer books the tour at $45 on Bookme, it comes in FareHarbor as $50 because Bookme connects to the available retail priced customer type. Even though it comes in FH as $50, that does not mean the customer paid $50. The customer paid the $45 price listed in Bookme.
If the client does not care about the price discrepancy in FH showing $50 paid, great! However, if the client wants to record the booking at $45 in FH, the client has to manually change the booking amount and the invoice amount.
Are there any workarounds to avoid the manual amendment? Yes, there are. If the client wants the booking automatically coming in at $45 in FH via API, we will need to create a Bookme price sheet with Bookme specific customer types.
How to create a Bookme API-specific price sheet and customer types:
- Gather all the Bookme price points information from the client.
- Create a new price sheet and name it “Affiliate – Bookme”. If Bookme was already added to the dashboard, duplicate the total sheet that is assigned to the affiliate. If this is a new affiliate to add, duplicate the Online sheet. Make sure any custom fields are hidden on the new Bookme sheet (such as a custom field that is absorbing booking fee).

- Create Bookme customer types for each price point by duplicating the normal Adult rate customer type already added to the corresponding item.
Example: Duplicate “Adult”. Name the new one’s SKU as “Bookme – $45”.

- Price them on the base sheet but hide all the Bookme customer types on the base sheet. Make the customer types visible on the Bookme Price sheet only.

- Make sure the new customer types are added to any resources under the item.

- Double-check that the new customer types are commissioned under the invoice sheet assigned to Bookme.
Add the new customer types to availabilities. The number of availabilities that the new Bookme customer types will be added should be the same as the number of availabilities which the normal Adult customer type is added to.
How to check how many availabilities are using the normal Adult customer type: go to availability updater – customer type “Adult” – try ‘remove’. You will see how many availabilities will be affected. Don’t actually remove the Adult CT though!
Assign the Bookme price sheet to the Bookme affiliate.
- Inform Bookme about the new customer types and ask for the mapping update.
Contact: dane@bookme.co.nz - Advise the client once Bookme updates their mapping.
