Payment Service Providers
Last updated: October 3, 2025
Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to payment processing? Most people are mainly concerned about being able to complete a payment in a quick and convenient way – that’s where Payment Service Providers (PSP) come in.
A PSP offers online stores the possibility to accept electronic payments using a variety of payment methods such as credit cards, bank-based payments such as direct debits, bank transfers, and real-time bank transfer based on online banking.
FareHarbor continues to build and fortify relationships with different payment service providers in order to provide its clients with a frictionless payment processing experience. This in turn offers our clients’ customers the ability to confidently and easily make a payment using a method they trust.

The primary difference between Stripe vs. PayPal is that while FareHarbor uses direct access in Stripe to handle and manage transactions, FareHarbor has no direct access to money or transactions in PayPal.
Please note that clients can’t use PayPal as the sole payment processor in countries where Stripe is also available.
