Payment Setup Checklist for dLocal

dLocal is a payments service provider (PSP) that specializes in providing payment processing services in emerging markets. FareHarbor currently supports dLocal in Thailand, South Africa, and Costa Rica.
In order to start accepting payments via dLocal, you must first complete the steps in the Payment Setup Checklist.
To access the Payment Setup Checklist:
Go to your FareHarbor Dashboard > Settings.
Select Bank & Payments from the sidebar.
Check if your Payment Setup Checklist is complete (on the Overview page).
Note: Access to this section could be restricted by permissions. If you do not have access, try a different login or contact your administrator or FareHarbor Support.
dLocal setup
Before you start the setup process make sure that you have the necessary information and documents ready for submission. These documents depend on your location and how you’re incorporated.
Step 1: Accept the Terms of Service
As a first step in the setup, make sure that you’ve read FareHarbor’s Terms of Service for Providers and dLocal’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice. Once you’re done, check the checkbox for I accept the Terms of Service, then click Submit.

Step 2: Create account
During this step, you are asked to provide basic information related to your business in order to start the registration with dLocal.
Be sure to double-check the information you enter before clicking Submit.
You can register as either an individual or a business based on the type of company you represent.

To register as an individual:
- Select the option As an individual.
- Enter your email address.
- Click Submit when done.
To register as a business:
- Select the option As a business.
- Enter the company email address.
- Enter your Tax ID.
- In Thailand, this is your Tax Identification Number.
- In South Africa, this is your South Africa Revenue Service Number (SARSN).
- In Costa Rica, this is your Cédula de Identidad (Account Holder ID).
- Click Submit once you’ve provided the info.
Note: Your account is successfully created in dLocal when the Payments processor field under Payment information on the right-hand side shows a green checkmark. You can also check this field on the Overview page.
Step 3: Verify your identity and your business
In this step, you provide additional information to dLocal to verify your company’s information as well as your identity.
Important: Only legal representatives, such as a Managing Director, CEO or Owner can complete these steps.
Please take the following document requirements into account:
- Accepted formats: JPEG, PNG, and PDF.
- Must be full color and not black and white photocopy.
- Max file size per document cannot be more than 10MB.
- Minimum resolution is 600×600 pixels.
- Must be a clear and legible image without any dirt or obstructions or hidden information.
Information required for individuals
- Full legal name
- Tax ID
- Business address, consisting of:
- Street address
- City
- Postal code
- Phone number (including international and regional codes)
- Documents (front and back where applicable):
- For Thailand: Passport or citizen ID card.
- For South Africa: Passport or smart ID card.
- For Costa Rica: Passport or national ID card (Cédula de Identidad).
- All countries: Bank statement of last 6 months.

Information required for businesses
Business information
Legal business name as per the company registration
Business address, containing:
- Street address
- City
- Postal code
Contact information:
- Business phone number (including international and regional codes)
- Business website (should start with “http://”)
Company documents:
For Thailand:
- A bank statement of the last 6 months
- Director’s registry (this is your company’s Business Registration Certificate, it lists all the directors of the company)
- Shareholder’s registry (a document that details the list of main shareholders)
For South Africa:
- Certificate of incorporation
- Shareholder’s registry
- Director’s registry
For Costa Rica:
- Shareholder’s registry (Notarial Certification or RTBF document) as registered with Registro Nacional
- Latest bank statement
Legal representative information
If the legal representative is also a director and an owner, then they can re-submit their documents for all three representative requirements.
Full legal name
Note for Costa Rica: Only this is required for legal representatives of businesses in Costa Rica, the remaining requirements apply only to South Africa and Thailand.
Tax ID
Residential address, consisting of:
- Street address
- City
- Postal code
- Country
Phone number (including international and regional codes)
Identification document
- Copy of ID (front and back)
- For Thailand: Passport or citizen ID card.
- For South Africa: Passport or smart ID card.
- The document number
- Copy of ID (front and back)
Indicate whether you’re a politically exposed person.
Ultimate Beneficiary Owner (UBO): A UBO is an individual that owns at least 20% of the company. In case your company has more than one UBO, you need to provide information for all that qualify. The legal representative could also be one of the UBOs.
- Full legal name
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Residential address including:
- Street address
- City
- Postal code
- Country
- Percentage of ownership
- Declaration of politically exposed person (PEP) status (indicate whether you’re politically exposed).
- Documentation:
- Copy of an identification document – Passport or Citizen ID card (front and back).
- Proof of address (for example, a utility bill).
Note: If there’s more than 1 UBO, provide the following additional documents:
- Company ownership structure – A clear corporate ownership structure of the company with full legal names, country of incorporation, and % of participation, outlining the ultimate beneficial owners and signed by the legal representative.
- Shareholder’s registry – A shareholder registry is a document where shareholders’ interest in the company is recorded.
- Director’s registry – A director’s registry is a document that shows the names of the directors appointed by the company to represent it. By law, companies are required to keep this list up to date to remove those directors who are deceased or resigned and to add those who have been elected by the shareholders.
Director information (this may be same as the legal representative):
- For Thailand: Not required.
For South Africa:
- Proof of address (latest copy of a utility / telephone bill should suffice).
- Copy of an identification document (front and back).
For Costa Rica: Copy of an identification document (front and back).
Step 4: Add bank account for payouts
To complete the setup, you must add a bank account. FareHarbor will use this account for payouts.

You need to provide:
- Bank name
- Account number
- Account type (checking or savings)
- Account holder name
- Account holder tax ID
- Account holder address
- Account holder phone number
Click Submit to finalize the Payment Setup Checklist.

Additional country-specific notes
Thailand
- Payments are processed in THB.
- PayPal payments are supported.
South Africa
- Payments are processed in ZAR.
Costa Rica
- Payments are processed in USD.
- PayPal payments are supported.
- Companies are responsible for issuing tax invoices (factura timbrada) to end customers, in accordance with local regulations.
- Support for Apple Pay, Google Pay, and QR code payments is not yet available.
