Editing crew visibility
Last updated: March 1, 2018
By default, crew members that have access to view bookings are able to see all bookings and availabilities in the Dashboard, even those they are not assigned to. However, you can limit what crew members see by editing their permission group.
Roles vs. permissions: Keep in mind that roles are optional when assigning a crew member to an availability. Roles are separate from permission groups, which determine what a user can and cannot do in your Dashboard.
Editing a crew member’s permission group
If you do not have access to edit permission groups, contact FareHarbor Support and we will be happy to make any changes for you.
If you have access to edit permission groups, you can fine-tune your crew members’ permissions by following these steps:
- Go to the Settings section of your Dashboard
- Select Users & Permissions from the menu
- Select the Permission Groups tab
- Find the permission group assigned to the crew member and click Edit »
Enable or disable permissions as needed
Note: Crew-related permissions are located under the Items & Availabilities section. See below for more information about each setting.
Once you’re done, scroll down and click the Save button

Crew-related permissions
View crew assignments: Allows the user to see all crew members that have been assigned to availabilities in FareHarbor.
Create and edit crew assignments for self: Allows the user to add or remove themselves as crew, or change their own role (only allowed if “View crew assignments” is enabled).
Create and edit crew assignments for anyone: Allows the user to add or remove others as crew, or change roles for other crew members (only allowed if “Create and edit crew assignments for self” is enabled).
Create and edit crew roles: Allows the user to create and edit new roles that can be assigned to themselves or other crew members (only allowed if “Create and edit crew assignments for self” is enabled).
View only assigned bookings and availabilities: Users with this permission will only be able to see bookings and availabilities they’re assigned to. If this setting is enabled in addition to any of the above permissions, the user will only be able to view or edit crew assignments on availabilities they’ve been assigned to.
Notes
If you want your crew members to be able to see the bookings and availabilities they’ve been assigned to in FareHarbor, make sure that they have the “View Bookings section of Dashboard” permission enabled (located in the Bookings & Payments section of the permission group settings).

If a user adds their FareHarbor calendar to another device or calendar program (such as Google Calendar or Outlook), the calendar will only display the bookings and availabilities that user has access to, according to the user’s permission group. Learn more about subscribing to FareHarbor calendars.
