Saving custom manifests
Last updated: December 23, 2020
A custom manifest is a saved collection of manifest settings in your Dashboard. By default, the manifest will show all of your bookings for a given day, organized by availability. You can customize this view using filters and display options, then save your settings as a custom manifest and easily return to them later.
Here are a few examples:
- Organize your manifest by availability, filtering to show only 2 of your 5 items
- Create personalized manifests for different members of your staff (for example, include customer contact details for tour guides, or booking totals for accountants)
- Filter by check-in status to show guests who haven’t yet been checked in for the day

Saving a custom manifest
To save a collection of settings as a custom manifest:
- Go to the Manifest section of your Dashboard.
- Set your preferred view options (learn more about these options).
Click on the custom manifest menu and select New custom manifest:

Enter a name for your manifest.
Choose whether to include the manifest view and selected items in your saved manifest (these are the settings located next to the date at the top of the page):

Click Create.
Notes
All settings except the date, filtered availabilities, and column sort order will be saved when creating a custom manifest.
Prior to May 2017, the manifest type (which determines whether the manifest is organized by availability, item, bookings, transportation, or resource) was not saved when creating a custom manifest.
- We recommend updating any custom manifests created prior to May 2017 with the preferred manifest type. Learn where to locate the manifest type and how to update a saved custom manifest.
The first custom manifest in the list will be the default for all users in your company. However, you can override this by setting individual default manifests for different users.
Accessing a saved custom manifest
To access a saved custom manifest:
- Navigate to the Manifest section of your Dashboard.
- Click on the custom manifest menu from the toolbar.
Select your custom manifest:

Once selected, the settings on the custom manifest will be applied. To make changes to an existing custom manifest, see Editing a custom manifest below.
Editing a custom manifest
If you need to make changes to a saved custom manifest, you can do so by selecting the desired manifest, editing your options, then re-saving it with the same name.
- Open the custom manifest menu and select the manifest you want to edit.
- Adjust your preferences.
Open the custom manifest menu again and click the pencil/edit icon next to your manifest’s name:

Select the box next to Update to current settings on save.
Choose whether to include the manifest view and selected items in your updated manifest (these are the settings located next to the date at the top of the page):

Click Save.
Setting up an individual default manifest
Any user can set up their own default manifest in their personal settings. By default, company directors and admins also have the ability to update the default manifest for other users.
- Navigate to Settings in your Dashboard.
- Select Users & Permissions from the Settings menu.
- Click Edit next to the user’s name.
- Select the Account tab, then the Defaults tab.
- Under Default manifest, select the preferred manifest.
- Click Save.

Reordering custom manifests
Remember: The first custom manifest on the list will appear as the default manifest for all users in your organization, unless they have an individual default manifest set up.
To reorder your custom manifests, simply drag and drop the reorder icon to the right of the manifest name.

Internal-only content. Don't copy and paste to anyone.
In May 2017, we moved the “manifest type” dropdown menu (previously located on the left side of the toolbar) next to the date, and split it into two dropdowns.

Previously, these settings were not saved when creating a custom manifest, but now they are.
It’s also important to note that these settings are stored in the manifest’s URL. This means:
- When you switch from a new custom manifest to an old one (created prior to May 2017), the URL won’t change. The manifest type settings on the new custom manifest will “stick” when viewing the old.
- When you switch from an old custom manifest to a new one, the URL might change, if the manifest type is different.
