How to enable TourConnect
Last updated: May 9, 2023
If the client has a question about the connection, that can best be answered by the partner, either encourage them to contact their account representative or their support team at info@tourconnect.com.
API Setup
Here are the steps to enable the TourConnect integration in a client’s Dashboard. All we need from the client in order to initiate this process is their confirmation that they are working with TourConnect by replying to TourConnects automated sign up email with the affiliates they are wanting to connect. Clients should be directing this request to TourConnect Support – but then the client should reply with a list of their affiliates. Once they reply we can follow.
From the client’s Dashboard, go to Settings > Users & Permissions and create a new user called “TourConnect API”. Give this user the highest permission group available, the username “tcapi” and select partner if applicable.

- Within the settings of that new “TourConnect API” user, navigate to the API Keys tab. Add a new API Key, and name it “TourConnect API.”
Copy the API Key displayed on the following screenshot and paste it into this sheet. Make sure to add the Company/Affiliate name and shortname to the sheet as well.

- From the client’s dashboard, go to Settings> Affiliates and see if the Affiliates they want integrated are under this section.
- If they are , continue to step 5.
- If one or more are not displaying as an affiliate for them, please have them submit this form to get them added. Continue to step 4 with those that are.
- If none of the affiliates are on the dashboard, then delete the API key and remove TourConnect from the dashboard and Google sheet. You will need to let the client and TourConnect know there are no affiliates to connect.
- Look to see if the affiliates they want to integrate are under this sheet. They could have been previously integrated. If so, go to step 10.
- Select the affiliate name (from the client’s dashboard) which takes you to the affiliate dashboard. From the affiliate dashboard, go to Settings > Users & Permissions and create a new user called “TourConnect API” . Give this user the highest permission group available, the username
“tcapi” and select partner if applicable.

Within the settings of that new “TourConnect API” user, navigate to the API Keys tab. Add a new API Key, and name it “TourConnect API.”

Copy the API Key displayed on the following screenshot and paste it into this sheet. Make sure to add the Company/Affiliate name and shortname to the sheet as well.

- Follow steps 6-8 for all affiliates the client wants to integrate with.
- Now we need to update each affiliate’s permissions to External API. This video will show how to do it.
- FOR SOFTWARE PARTNERSHIPS ONLY: We need to add all the shortnames to the TourConnect APP key.
- Respond to the ZD ticket letting the client and TourConnect know this integration is complete.
