FareHarbor External API: Non Distribution Use Cases
Last updated: March 19, 2025
Goal of this help page: This page aims to align on the current non distribution use case requests for access to the FareHarbor External API. Note that even at this point, the majority of these requests are not yet possible, but by extending our API capabilities or integrating with 3rd party solutions, these use cases can be supported in the future.
The FareHarbor External API enables clients to access and manage data in real-time, tailored to their specific business needs. While it was created for resellers and OTAs, we have identified a handful of successful use cases for non distribution purposes. These use cases are for full access.
Only supported use cases for Enterprise clients are eligible to access requests, provided it meets the rest of the criteria. For all other requests submit a Product Feature Request.
Tool Capabilities
FareHarbor External API
- Retrieve real-time data for bookings, availability, and items.
- Create, rebook, or cancel bookings and add booking notes.
Webhooks
- Receive real-time data for booking related updates.
- Any change to a booking triggers the webhook and can include: booking creation, customer contact information edited, booking notes edited.
Zapier
- Automate workflows between FareHarbor and other apps like Mailchimp, Google Sheets, Slack, or email without requiring the client to hire a development team.
- Information sent from the FH dashboard to Zapier is identical to webhook data.
Choosing the right tool for your needs
When integrating with FareHarbor, it’s essential to choose the right tool—API, webhooks, or Zapier—based on the business needs and technical resources. Each option serves a specific purpose and is designed for different levels of technical complexity.

Supported and Unsupported Use Cases
Selling points
- Business Impact & ROI: External API and Webhooks eliminate manual work, saving businesses hours every week. The API enables real-time automation for bookings, CRM updates, and financial reporting.
- Address Common Pain Points: Are you struggling with disconnected systems and duplicate data entry? External API bridges the gap between your booking system and your CRM, financial tools, and reporting platforms, ensuring all your key systems stay in sync.
- Competitive Advantage Against Other Solutions: Unlike other platforms, our API is purpose-built for tour operators and activity providers, meaning it integrates seamlessly with your existing FareHarbor setup.
Additional Support/Questions/Feedback?
Submit a request for an unsupported integration
- To better track these requests, please submit a request through idea box in Product Feature Request Custom Activity in Close CRM
- In addition to the required fields, please also make sure you add information about:
- The software/platform the client uses (e.g. Square, Quickbooks, etc.)
- Use case for the client
Submit a request for API access for a supported use case
- Only tiers 4 or 5 can have access to the api for supported use cases. If a non-ENT client requests access, let them know the API was built for resellers only and we won’t be able to provide access.
- There is no troubleshooting shooting support nor access given on weekends.
- There is only one team member per region able to grant access, so we cannot promise 24 hour turnarounds.
- Prior to requesting access you must first provide the developer center and confirm that the client understands they will have to do all of the development work, and we cannot add additional endpoints (for new endpoints/improvements submit a product integration request for development work).
- Send the developer or client the API access request form and as long as it is a supported use case, a member of SwP will review and provide access.
- If you have any questions or need additional information/support, please post your question in #softwarepartnerships.
