What is Polaris?
Polaris Industries is the American leader in manufacturing of snowmobiles, ATVs, and other on- and off-road vehicles. Polaris has over 100 outfitters that are part of the Polaris Adventures Program, which is an agreement between the outfitter and Polaris. The agreement gives the outfitter access to tools to help them run a successful and reputable business, such as:
- Polaris vehicles
- Polaris provided signage (flags, banners, etc)
- Discounting training & vehicle maintenance
- Digital marketing assistance
- Application for customer & vehicle management (assigning vehicles, waiver signing, taking photos of vehicles before and after the trip)
Part of the package provided to operators on the Polaris Adventures Program includes a reservation system. FareHarbor is the preferred reservation system provider for Polaris. By signing up with FareHarbor and Polaris, the operator is able to have ASN book buttons listed on the Polaris website (https://adventures.polaris.com/). If using another reservation software there is no redirect to an operator’s website.
Unique Features
Pre-Authorization
What is pre-authorization?
A pre-authorization places a hold on your customer’s credit or debit card for a specified dollar amount. This guarantees the customer has the necessary funds in their account. This is commonly needed by rental operators, to ensure that a customer can cover the costs of the vehicle in the event it gets damaged. The ability to capture pre-authorizations is a benefit and good selling point for Polaris’s operators to use FareHarbor. Read more about credit card authorization holds here.
ARRIVAL App
Polaris provides an application to all operators on the program. This app is used for customer check-in, waivers, vehicle check-in/out, managing vehicle maintenance, etc. FareHarbor integrates with the app by sending customer info (name, phone, email, availability time/date, item, and customer type) directly to the app. When guests arrive, the operator will already have customer information in the ARRIVAL app, and will manage the rest of the check-in within the app.
The ARRIVAL App is required to be used by all Polaris Outfitters – Other third-party waiver solutions FareHarbor offers (SmartWaiver/Wherewolf) should not be presented during the sales process.
Close
Each Polaris Outfitter should have their own individual lead in Close. Every Polaris lead will have the custom field “Association: Polaris” marked.
Onboarding
Please make a copy of this OB CopyPasta for your onboard docs.
This OB doc has waiver options removed (required to use Polaris Arrival App) and notes that Polaris.

FAQ
What if an operator does not want to switch to FareHarbor?
We have record of each operator’s Polaris Account Specialist and can loop them into our conversation if we are hitting a roadblock. Please post the lead and a brief explanation in the #polaris-industries Slack channel and tag @polaris.
What if an operator is asking why they need to switch to FareHarbor?
First, sell the benefits of FareHarbor! Polaris Industries chose FareHarbor as a partner over Peek for a reason. Be sure to set up a time for a demonstration to show them the full scope of our features – We want these outfitters to be excited to work with us.
All operators have received information from Polaris Corporate on the need to switch, and if they have specific questions regarding the requirement, please encourage them to reach out to their Polaris rep. Although they will be removed from the Polaris program if they are not on FareHarbor by 2020, FareHarbor should not be advising operators on the specific details of their agreement with Polaris.
