Demo Dashboards Directory and Best Practices
Last updated: July 31, 2020
This page provides all the information you’ll need to set up a demo Dashboard, as well as give examples of demo Dashboards (with their shortnames) that you can use to demo FareHarbor. Select the sections below to learn more about their topics.
Completing Stripe’s Client Verification to accept payments
Note: You will only have to complete this verification if your Dashboard is out of demo mode. While on the Dashboard, look at the top right corner (next to your name) and see if the company name has the Demo box next to it:

Background
With the recent changes to Stripe’s verification processes, Dashboard users need to complete the payment setup checklist before they can start accepting payments. A key part of this step is client verification, which is done using Stripe’s hosted onboarding process.
This applies to demo Dashboards too, since the test card numbers may not work if the verification process is not completed. However, verification for demo Dashboards can be completed successfully using the test data provided by Stripe.
Some notes:
- Demo Dashboards refer to Dashboards on demo.fareharbor.com.
- Test data won’t work in the production Dashboards.
How to complete the verification:
Note: Make sure you’ve accepted the Stripe and FareHarbor Terms and Conditions before you start hosted onboarding.
- Select Start under “Payment Setup Checklist” > “Enter customer verification information”. You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s portal.
- Select whether you want to provide the information as an individual or as a company. Recommendation is to select “Individual” as the verification process is shorter.
- If asked, enter your business URL/description. This can be anything, but it’s mandatory to enter something so that Stripe can complete the verification process.
Business Information
If you’ve chosen to register as a corporation, then you need to provide business information too. To ensure that Stripe automatically verifies your business data, make sure that:
- Address Line 1 is set to address_full_match (case sensitive).
- The zipcode / postal code is valid for the city you choose to enter.
- The company Tax ID (i.e. EIN / KVK / ABN) is 000000000 (the length may need to conform to the expected length by Stripe, so add/remove 0s as required).
Individual Information
To ensure that Stripe automatically verifies your data, make sure that:
- Date of birth is set to 01/01/1901
- Address Line 1 is set to address_full_match (case sensitive)
- Ensure that the zipcode / postal code is valid for the city you choose to enter.
- (For US only) Ensure that your SSN last digits are 0000
Personal ID number is 000000000

When asked about whether or not you own 25% of the company, check that checkbox.
- For EMEA/APAC: If you’ve signed up as a corporation, you may need to to indicate whether you’re a board member. If so, check the box and select “Yes” for “Are you the only person on the governing board of the company?”
Document Proof (both Individual and Company)
In case Stripe asks you to upload a document, you can select the “Use test document” option, which is automatically verified by Stripe.

Successful Verification
Once all of your information is verified, the customer verification step in the Payment Setup Checklist will turn green. When you click update, you’ll be redirected to your Stripe Dashboard, which will look like this:

Notes & Troubleshooting
- If you’ve already provided some of the information earlier, you may not be able to edit it (eg: Date of birth or SSN). In that case, ensure that at least the address is updated as indicated in steps 5 and 6.
- Verification is not required if you’re not using test cards on the demo Dashboard. For example, if you make bookings only using payment method “Cash”, or if the bookings don’t require payment.
Recommendations and Etiquette for Demo Dashboards
- All payments should be paid in full with credit card: 4000005280000002 (NL) or 42424242424242 (repeating, US). For specific countries, you can look here.
- All customers should have emails [john@example.com]
- Emails should all end with ‘@example.com’
- No Celebrities names or “Test” names
- Do not use your name as a customer
- All customers entered should have capital letters for the first letter of the first and last name. (Example: Adam Ward)
Do not add the same name multiple times due to the following:

If you create any of the following, remember to delete them after your demo (better yet, create them in your personal demo Dash):
