Updating customer type prices
Last updated: November 3, 2025
There are three different ways to update customer type prices:
- Update pricing for all availabilities on an item (most common)
- Update pricing for a specific group of availabilities on an item
- Update pricing for a single availability
Read more about each of these options by clicking into the sections below.
Update pricing for all availabilities on an item
Changing the price on an item will update all availabilities for that item. To do this:
Go to the Items section of your Dashboard and select the item you want to update.
Go to Availability > Options & Prices.
On the toolbar at the top of the page, select which price sheet to update (Not sure which price sheet to choose? Learn more here.)

Tip: If you have many customer types, you can search for a specific one using the Filter pricing menu:

Click on the price you wish to update.
Make sure the dropdown menu is set to Change.
Enter the new price and determine the tax types you wish to apply. Then click Save.

Repeat steps 3-6 for any other customer types you need to adjust
If you need to make pricing changes for more than one item, repeat the above steps for each item you wish to update.
Update pricing for a specific group of availabilities
Note: We do not recommend updating pricing for specific availabilities, as this can conflict with price schedules, invoice sheets that have been configured for affiliates, and price schedules with dynamic rules. Before updating pricing using the availability updater, reach out to FareHarbor Support.
To update multiple availabilities at once with the availability updater
Go to the Items section of your Dashboard and select the item you want to update.
Go to Availability > Calendar.
Click Update availabilities from the toolbar to open the updater:

In the first section of the updater (under Setup), select Customer types.
In the second section, choose which availabilities to update by adjusting the date range and filters. Read more about these options.
In the third section, select Price:
Select the customer type to update.
In the Price column, select Change from the dropdown.
Enter the new price and select which tax types you wish to apply.

Click Preview changes to confirm the number of availabilities that will be changed.
Note: Always remember to double check how many availabilities will be updated when previewing your changes. If the number seems too high or too low, you can click “Edit options” to go back and make any adjustments. When you’re ready, click Complete update.
Update pricing for a single availability
Note: We do not recommend updating pricing for a single availability, as this can conflict with price schedules, invoice sheets that have been configured for affiliates, and price schedules with dynamic rules. Before trying to update pricing for a single availability, reach out to FareHarbor Support.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will price changes affect my existing bookings?
No; bookings that have already been made will not be affected by price changes. If you change a price and want that change to be reflected on an existing booking, you have two options:
- Rebook the customer (this will create a new booking)
- Reprice the booking to adjust the booking total and add/refund payment as needed
Will price changes automatically update commission rates for affiliate bookings?
No; commission rates for bookings that have already been made will not be affected by price changes. Additionally, you will need to update your invoice sheets or contact FareHarbor Support to ensure your commission rates reflect your updated prices moving forward.
Important: If you’re using both customer total price sheets and invoice sheets, it’s important to note that these two types of price sheets function independently from each other. This means if you change the price on a customer total sheet, then you will also need to change the price on the invoice sheet if you want the commission rate to reflect the new price.
How can I make price changes to a custom field?
See Updating custom field prices.
Is there anywhere I can see all of my prices at once?
You can view pricing for all of your items from the Price Sheets Overview (located under Settings > Price Sheets > Overview). From here, you can view and adjust pricing for any of your items. Remember, if you haven’t made pricing changes before, we highly recommend getting in touch with FareHarbor Support before making any changes.

How do I know which price sheet to choose?
In most cases, you’ll want to update the Base sheet, which determines the default prices and visibility for the customer type or custom field you’re updating.
However, in some cases you might want to make a more specific change:
- If you want to update online pricing or visibility only, choose the Online sheet. If you have more than one Online sheet, the one closest to the top of the list will be reflected on your website.
- If you want to update pricing or visibility only for logged-in Dashboard users making direct bookings, choose the Direct sheet.
- If you work with affiliates and want to update pricing or visibility specifically for affiliate bookings, make sure to choose the appropriate affiliate price sheet before making your change.
Note: Price sheets are customizable, so your sheets may differ from the ones mentioned here. If you’re not sure which price sheet you should be updating, please reach out to FareHarbor Support.
How can I tell what price sheet is being used when I’m making a booking?
When making a booking in the Dashboard, you can see what price sheet is being used by referencing the Pricing menu located at the top of the page.

Tip: The Pricing menu is also a good way to test out your book form after making price changes. To do this, create a new booking from your Dashboard, choose the updated price sheet from the Pricing menu, and confirm that the correct pricing changes are reflected.

We usually recommend changing the price for a customer type at the item level. This ensures that the price is then reflected on all availabilities for that item (unless any of them have been overridden).
If you need to change the customer type price on one or more specific availabilities, use the availability updater.
