Creating bookings that require phone or email
Last updated: March 6, 2023
It is possible to require a phone number and email when creating a booking in your Dashboard. This can be useful if you want to make sure that you always have easy access to your customer’s contact info.
In order to require these fields, you must deselect Skip contact full name and Skip contact phone, which are enabled by default. Keep reading this page to learn how to configure requiring phone and email for bookings.
If you do not see this option in your Dashboard, you may not have the necessary permissions. Please contact FareHarbor Support for assistance.
Enabling requirement of phone and email
This setting is configured by permission group settings. Therefore, configuring the requirement of phone and email when creating a booking will affect all users within that permission group.
To require a phone number and email when creating a booking:
- Go to Settings.
- Navigate to Users & Permissions.
- Select the Permission Groups tab.
- Select Edit next to the group you want to configure.
- In Bookings & Payments > Working with bookings, deselect the checkbox for “Skip contact email” and/or “Skip contact phone”.
- Save changes.
You’re done! Phone and/or email are now required when Dashboard users within the configured permission group create bookings.
Making a booking with required phone and email
If a user is in a permission group that requires phone and/or email, they won’t be able to complete the booking without information filled in those fields:
